I am not anti-A.I. I am pro clear labeling of what I'm looking at. I am pro clear labeling of A.I. content.
Lots of people are hypocrites when it comes to A.I. Artists bitch about A.I. art, then turn around and use A.I. music. Musicians bitch about A.I. music, then use it to generate thumbnails or even full videos.
A.I. is a wonderfully powerful tool, but I don't want to and can't compete with prompt-generated A.I. art, and I shouldn't have to. It's fun and addicting to type in a prompt and generate a masterpiece, but as far as my art goes, it took years to learn, and it's unfair to ask that it be presented next to prompts.
DeviantArt has done a decent job of labeling A.I., but it needs to go further by filtering it out of our feeds if that is what we desire.
In the end, I am happy to see the explosion of creativity, but remember that it was built on real artists' work without their consent, so the least we can do is ensure that it stays a separate form of expression.
