Hi OilPainters,
I'm going to make a "Master" Journal entry with a list of oil painting resources from across the web.
These will include tutorials, websites, resources, and useful links. The goal is to compile resources for oil painters to go to for guidance and support.
I'll update the list here until I get a good chuck going for a "Master List"
What resources would you like to see here?
Here's a few ideas of what I want to link:
- How to stretch a canvas
- Different materials, their uses, ect.
- online groups/ movements that are active. (Paint a picture a day, facebook groups, and more.)
If you have a request for material to post here, let me know.

This group is for people who are oil Painters, are interested interested in becoming oil painters, or are starting out at being oil painters. Got a room full master pieces? Post them here! Have an old oil painting you did hanging out in your house, post it! Have a sketch of your first scratch at trying to paint a grape? We want that too. We are constantly on the look out for oil painting related tutorials, useful links, articles, and other useful information related to oil painting. Hello all, I am hoping to find inspiration and encouragement in my painting journey here.. last year I attended a hobby painting course where I did 90 percent reproductions... this year I am in the same course doing 90 percent original work...
