BloggingI've decided it's simply too much work to try and mimic the blog posts I already write and post them here at DeviantArt. I'll keep putting new art and sketches up here but if you want the behind the scenes look at some of the pieces and some information on each of them you can check out my blog HERE.
OilCan Drive Pre-ConventionThe sixteen week crazy schedule I gave myself to get all of the things I ever wished I had done for OilCan Drive is finally over! And, I have to say, I did pretty well. Some things had to be cut or pared down simply because I didn't have the time but, for the most part, I think I did really well.
Sixteen weeks ago, around the end of January, I knew I'd have a table at the second Denver Comic Con. At the time I was doing around a page a week of OilCan Drive and I had about twenty pages left to go to get the book done. With sixteen weeks left I knew I'd have to step it up and, for at least a few weeks, I'd have to complete multiple pages. That kind of made me nervous. But, once I accepted it, I went even further. I made a list of all the OilCan Drive things I wish I could bring to a comic book convention. It included not only the comic book but a CD of music, postcards, trading cards, banners, t-shirts, and stickers.
And then I wrote out a schedule to make all of those things possible.
Apologies once again for letting so many days go by between posts. But, you know I've been busy working on all kinds of cool stuff so I hope you forgive me.
The inks have been laid down on the back cover illustration I showed off last week and it's already been scanned into the computer and toned for final printing.
There has been so much stuff that has been flying off my art table these last sixteen weeks that it's been really hard to keep up and show off everything that I've been working on. But, here is a piece I did a few weeks ago for the cover of the first ever OilCan Drive EP album.
Breaking The BorderOilCan Drive's first ever EP album has just been finished and sent out to Discmaker's for production. It will be two weeks before we have CDs in hand but, for now, you can check out this link to see a 3D preview of what the album will look like. It's really cool and I hope you'll all enjoy it!
Have a great one!
Week Fifteen Begins
Well, this is it, the final stretch. When I wrote out this crazy schedule I've been on back in January it seemed to make sense. I knew it would be thought but I figured if I could stick to the schedule I'd be okay.
I am now on the fifteenth of sixteen weeks I've given myself to get all of the OilCan Drive project done. I'm happy to say that almost all of the merchandise has been completed and is still either out at the printers or in my hands.
The album has been recorded and I'm in the middle of doing the final mixes now. I need to finish the songs up, get them mixed and mastered, and get all the art done for the packaging this week. Unfortunately one of the songs had to fall by the wayside since the deadline is so tight. So, while I did record all the parts for the cover song of The Outfie
OilCan Drive, A Rock and Roll Love Story
I meant to post this on Saturday. I wanted to share with the everyone that all of the old OilCan Drive art and comics had been shown on the OilCan Drive web comic site and it was now time for some new art and stories. It felt like an accomplishment that I had run the site for a full year and this "coming soon" piece of art would mark the next chapter in showing my favorite cartoon band off to the world.
But, then the weekend happened.
Everything was ready for the roll out on Friday. Wednesday marked the last day of pages that I had in the archive and Friday would show this new piece. I uploaded the piece and was working a bit on the site on Thursday night when, all of a sudden, I lost my connection to the site. I reboote

Here is a place where pillowings and lintlings come to rest, recover, and eventually go out and find new homes for themselves. For whatever reasons their old homes didn't quite work out, but that doesn't mean they're giving up. They're eager to meet you and can't wait to explore your home!
If you would like to purchase one of the adopts here with your cc, please comment below.
A mod will then comment back to confirm and collect the pillowing or lintlings things (extra art if it has any) for you and send you both on your way by note.

It's been so long!
I haven't done a journal in ages and I just updated the look of my profile page and it called for a new one of ....these. So! Let me update you.
I have been very busy, and artwork is coming along slowly, as everyone who actively watches me knows. Sorry about that! I promise I'll be better. <3
I also want to give a special thank you to everyone that showed support of me with the recent hullabaloo... I was really overwhelmed and touched. So thank you so much~! It really helped me get through it. c:
Also for anyone that has not noticed some time in the undecided future, I will be starting my own online manga! I'll be posting the pages here in my gallery. It'll be called Lemuria. I have set up a special sub-gallery just for it now, though it only boasts two im
A quick update on my absenceHello DAers!
My long absence due to multiple projects (and teaching, and graduate school) is probably a month away from coming to an end. I apologies for those who sent me IMs and didn't hear back, sometimes for months. If there is a rush it's almost always better to contact me through my website contact form, as I'll see that right away.
Also, I should have lots of fun skeletals to show off in the coming months (and years) thanks in part to the work I put in over the last 9 months. I look forward to chatting with you all again in a few weeks!

Cinematic Composition and FramingI have recently started to dive into cinematic composition & framing to try to add more depth to my images.
I thought it would be kinda cool to explain my thought process with my recent image. "Lily's Favorite Bar"
Step 1) Get the basic idea figured out.
My friend, the commissioner and I agreed on the concept of Ash being the bartender serving an eager Lily and disgusted Willow.
Step 2) Find out who the main focus should be in the shot.
I wanted Ash to be showing off her villainous personality and be in control of the situation but not the main focus. So Ash was used as a framing device for the real stars of the image.
Step 3) Add Subtle clues to help give the audience a better understanding of the characters and where to look.
Making Ash larger helped portray her control over the situation. But not the main focus as she is looking off to the side to help guide your attention to what she is i
