All of my new work is up there. I don't know if I'll ever be coming back here, to be honest. I feel like I should.

I've been far too inactive lately, and that's going to change, I promise. I moved to Seattle, WA, so I've been trying (and mostly failing) to adjust.

I got new lenses for Christmas so I'm desperate to get out and shoot. If you want to shoot with me, or know good places to go take pictures, let me know. I need photography buddies. For real. Especially if you like having your picture taken and you're willing to work TFP/TFCD. By the way my new lenses are pretty pretty pretty. My 50mm f/1.4 is quickly becoming my favorite - fast as hell, and the compact-ness means that I don't mind that it's prime. Though my 24-70mm f/2.8 has the most gorgeous colors I've ever seen.

three hours.

3 hours of work ahead of me. 3 hours of sleep behind me. At least it's Friday.

I love how, in the right light, the color of my eyes matches the color of the circles I get under my eyes from exhaustion. A haunting, haggard not-quite-blue.

caffeine-dizzy and sinking under the desk;
too much caffeine and too much of the night before.

thank you, Friday, and

I'm in San Diego with my family for Christmas Vacation. La Jolla, to be exact. We don't have relatives here, we just all adore La Jolla and my parents got the time off so we decided to come out here. The weather is awesome right now, perfect and sunny. Expect to see loverly pictures especially because

I got a Canon Digital Rebel XTI for christmas and he is gorgeous and I love him. Yesssssss. A high-quality camera. FTW, I tell you. FTW.

I wish I had something worthwhile to say. The bad part about being with my family is that we don't get along terribly well so I get lonely.

Happy holidays everyone? I think.

One of my good friends and I went to get massages last night. We've both had horrible weeks, and horrible past few weeks. I've spent way too much time writing, studying, taking notes, and especially spending time on the computer (luckily my carpal tunnel hasn't been acting up). My back was an absolute wreck, my neck was locked up, I could feel all of the different knots and moving in certain ways made me wince. I'm taking the Psychology GRE on Saturday, so am stressed to hell about that. In short, I needed this.

It was amazing. Afterwards I got a total head rush because of all the blood flow. I could move properly, I got all of my range of motion back in my neck and shoulders, my wrists didn't hurt, my headache went away. My knots were gone. I could touch my shoulders and neck and find smooth muscle, and sore places where the knots were. Woke up this morning, and even the soreness was gone. This is the first time in months, literally months, that I don't have knots, tension, and pain in my shoulders, back and neck. I almost cried with joy.

I feel kind of bad, because I was really quiet during the massage - yesterday I was running on four hours of sleep and enough caffeine to make me twitchy all day in class (I couldn't sit still). Luckily my friend told lots of stories (we booked the 'couples room' so we could talk) so she kept us all entertained. I was too tired and just relaxed afterwards to be hugely appreciative, but I left a nice tip for the massage therapist - I hope he understood.

It was really interesting to 'watch' how he did the massage. I've never gotten a professional massage before, though le boyfriend's grandmother is a liscenced massage therapist so he's picked some stuff up for her. The therapist used lots of nice deep pressure, which I'm going to have to try sometime. Really interesting. Little known fact: I'm a big believer in the healing power of touch, and that people need touch just like any other physical need, so massage therapy works on more than one level. I've decided that if this whole psychology graduate school thing doesn't work out, I'm going to massage therapy school.

And I'm off.

Cheers.
