Lil Nick

Coming up to the end of the year, I have one GIANT piece of art in the works, to commemorate the (near) completion of my main fanfic. Originally I was thinking this would be the end artwork for December, however a bunch of other work piling on and the approaching end of year deadline (plus spoileryness) had me decide it'd be better to do a quick piece of art to round off December.

With most of my focus aimed on improving my art style, especially around lighting, shadows, etc... I'd thought about doing a study of the JRS scene for a while, and this seemed like a reasonable excuse to do so. Quick trace, then studying and painting in. And I will say, I feel I have learnt a bunch from it, and will be using more ref pieces and such to study lighting and shadows from in the future. Very happy with how this came out.
