Jack and Skye: Cuddled up and in love

So, I decided to have a go with digital art and a drawing tablet. Ages ago I did a pencil on paper drawing of Jack and Skye from my fic Skye's Fall, depicting a scene in the end where, after some very emotional events, they're cuddling each other on the couch and have truly fallen in love with each other.

So, how hard could it be to do it in digital?

Well, twelve days later here it is!

The hardest part involved completely redrawing Skye's head several times in order to get something that felt right, and in the end I resorted to tracing over a Swift Fox's head to get something I was happy with. After that though, things were surprisingly easy. It just took a lot of time.

I'm still learning how to use Krita too, and this was certainly a learning experience. Next time, I'll probably do a far better job at things like shading. Going on, I'll likely focus on smaller character studies in order to try and hammer down a style, experiment with different methods, and just to practice more.

It's said that a picture can tell 1000 words. Being a fic writer, I can write those 1,000 in under an hour... This took longer. My fics need me, but be warned art world, I'll be back!
