Great Grey Owl by odhinnsrunes Great Grey Owl by odhinnsrunes
This bird is not usually seen any where near our place.
This picture was taken from about 1/4 of a mile away through the eyepiece of my telescope.

So I found out. This pic was taken at dusk, and there really wasn't enough light. I had to do a lot of manipulation to get it like this. Through the telescope, it filled the field of view. Right after I took this pic, it flew out of the tree, and caught a mouse (or something) about 300 yards away and flew back to the tree line. That was amazing to see. I got a picture of it' wings extended to take off, but it was blurry.

Thanks. It was nearly dusk, so it is a bit grainy, but what do you expect for a LONG distance shot.
