GAMERA - Viras

For Viras, I based his facial appearance on Nigel from Blue Sky's Rio franchise. As for the body, I referenced Dave the Octopus from the Penguins of Madagascar movie. The concept of Viras having retractile sucker hooks is inspired from the giant squid and the colossal squid, while also being inspired from cats.

Unlike most of Gamera's adversaries, Viras will not have a roar.

Personality

Viras is intelligent, manipulative, malevolent, cunning, violent, dangerous and destructive, constantly seen using physical force to injure or terrorize other characters, with his minions being the sole exception. He is also extremely cruel, sadistic, and egotistical, often taking great joy and pleasure in others' suffering. For example, he laughed maniacally at Gamera after unleashing a surprise attack on the giant turtle and while attempting to constrict him to death using his tentacles. He is also very unsympathetic and ruthless; he shows no pity or mercy to his victims and enemies and holds little or no remorse for his evil deeds.

However, in spite of his heinous personality, Viras has a softer side; he treats his henchmen very well and gets along reasonably well with them, as he is never seen abusing them and occasionally says "please" when giving them orders. Additionally, he also has a somewhat goofy, though slightly malicious, sense of humor, and is far more comedic compared to most of Gamera's foes.

Bio
In 1968, Viras was sent to Earth by the . An earlier attempt was easily thwarted by Gamera, so he employed a mind probe to discover Gamera's weaknesses. Viras discovered Gamera's kindness to children, and exploited it by kidnapping two Boy Scouts and using them as hostages, coercing Gamera to get into perfect position for the launching of the Brainwave Control Device. Gamera was then made to rampage through Japan, with the targets being the Okumusashi Dam and eventually Tokyo. After the children managed to reverse the polarity of the Brainwave Control Device, Gamera disobeyed his controllers, and began attacking. The Virasians attempted to escape, but Gamera completely incapacitated the UFO, preventing this from taking place. While much of the expedition force (barring Splatter and Dodge) died, Viras flew into the air and into a puddle of nuclear energy, where he grew in size and faced Gamera in combat. After a fierce battle, Viras was defeated when Gamera flew with him up into the atmosphere, where he froze solid. Gamera then dropped Viras into the ocean, seemingly killing off the evil Virasian for good. However, unbeknownst to Gamera, Viras had thawed out and was secretly planning a surprise attack. As Gamera looked at the two Boy Scouts in acknowledgement, Viras suddenly leaped onto him and wrapped his tentacles around the turtle's arms and shell. As Viras attempted to constrict Gamera to his death, Gamera utilizes his Rotating Disc, lifts Viras into the air, and sends him flying into a nearby refinery.

As Viras crashed into the refinery, he let off a burst of speed to escape his death as the effects of the nuclear energy wore off on him and he soon returned back to his normal size. Eventually, the police showed up to arrest Viras for his crimes.
