BNHA OC: Koemi Megumi

Before Koemi was accepted into UA, she was attacked on a rainy day, by a villain, on her way home from school. This villain was a robber in the shadows, one that wasn't afraid of attacking students violently. While she tried to defend herself with her quirk, the villain was still able to injure her quite badly and make off with her personal items. She was left in an alley to possibly bleed to death, unable to call out for help. Because of the suddenness of the attack and how quickly it was over, no pros were called to the scene. Despite that however, there was somebody who came to her rescue. She heard him first, a man who had been walking but broke out into a run when he saw her. He was an ordinary man, also seemingly weak. She caught a glimpse of him, but only barely. All she could remember was his wild hair, along with what he told her: he told her not to cry, to keep holding on until she got to a hospital. Most importantly, to her, he told her he was proud of her for holding on as long as she did. After falling unconscious, she woke up in the hospital to a plethora of get-well cards and flowers. 

Her name was in the news for about a week after that, until the villain was eventually reprimanded by All Might himself. She was the talk of the town for that time, as students from UA still recognize her face. However, even though she survived, she was incredibly hard on herself for being attacked in the first place. She constantly told herself that she was weak and could never be a hero. Those feelings changed when she woke up in the hospital on one of her recovery days, an envelope resting on her lap. It wasn't signed, but the card inside told her "I'm so proud of you. You CAN be a hero." When she asked who left it, the nurse replied that it was the man who brought her to the hospital. To this day, she holds that card near and dear to her heart, vowing to find the man who rescued her and thanking him. 

When asked why she wants to be a hero, she responds with "I want to protect somebody, to repay them the debt I owe." and most of the time, people get a little scared of that response. She only ever explains what she means to Tenya, who recognized her face from that time, along with Deku and Uraraka. She doesn't mind if she can only remain a sidekick, but she would rather be a Pro Hero so she can come to the rescue of those who need her, like a ray of sunlight, just like her hero. The man who saved her life.

Once, Deku asked what she remembered about the man, and when she transformed her hair to look like Toshinori's, he just about had a heart-attack where he stood. (the boy was shooketh)

Koemi was accepted into UA via recommendation, but she's not proud of it. She still feels she is too weak.

Quirk

    Quirk: Hair-ipulation

       Koemi can transform her hair into whatever shape she desires. It can be used offensively, defensively, and be used as a way of transportation. She can grapple onto pipes and swing, turn it into feet (or hands) to run faster, or even use it to grab others and pull them to safety/close range. Her quirk extends to anywhere on the body that hair is grown, but she mostly uses it on her head. She keeps the back and shins on her hero uniform exposed for this very reason. As a special attack, or if she is cornered/blindsided from the back, she moves the hair from her head to her back, creating a shield or a surprise attack. However, this causes her head to go bald until she no longer needs her back, leaving her front-side vulnerable to attack. ((This move is very embarrassing to use in a stadium full of people.))

        Advantages: 

           - she can use her hair as a blanket sometimes
           - can entangle enemies like a rope
           - packs an interesting punch
           - can swing from it like a vine

        Disadvantages:

            - the maximum range her hair can reach is 40 feet
            - is weak to fire, as it would quite literally burn off
            - scalp pain is very real if overused
            - takes time to grow back if severely damaged

Personality

Koemi is fun-loving and bubbly, as well as extremely determined and confident. However, she is too hard on herself most of the time and needs a boost from her friends now and then. She admires everybody's quirks, and is somehow immune to Bakugo's insults. She stands up for what she believes in, and she has a fiery spirit in a fight. Always aspiring to improve her own quirk, she also aspires to be a beam of light to everybody else working hard as well!
