So I've been rewatching season one of The Real Ghostbusters - episodes of which I haven't watched in nearly 40 years - and I'm not sure if it's just the passage of time but boy, most of these episodes were DARK. Don't think I appreciated just how adult a lot of the themes and situations were as a teen, and somehow I don't think you'd ever get a series like this greenlit on modern television. They really DON'T make them like that anymore.
Another of my favorites on the tracklist this time of year is from EuroDisney's Phantom Manor, the far more romanticized cousin of the traditional Haunted Mansion found at Disney's US locales. Scored by John Debney, it strikes a far more "Phantom of the Opera" tone, and this particular version features the last vocal performance of one of the all-time horror greats, Vincent Price. I've never been to Phantom Manor, but after all these years with this in my Halloween queue, it feels like a place I know inside and out.
One of the best times I had in Wildstar was during their Halloween event, and ever since WS shut down in 2018, this Shade's Eve playlist has always been in my seasonal rotation this time of year. Give it a listen - it's got quite a bit of atmosphere crammed into multiple musical styles, and to this day I haven't found much in the gaming space that compares.
...a ravishing bride...
...a vanishing groom
There, I said it - is humanity really this horrible now? Was it always this way and I just never noticed, or did humanity cover it up really well all these years?
Anyways I gotta catch a shuttle to Planet Xanax so seeyaaaa
