So, I've decided to finish my art degree after all. I plan to graduate next winter (finally!). Long story short, my foundations in mathematics is very poor... if I attempt engineering again someday, I'd like to start from the beginning again.
This quarter was not wasted, however. I'm going to be putting things I've learned from my Engineering Design class to practice in my art. I've learned how to fiddle around with Arduino, and hope to experiment with potential animated ceramic sculptures.
Quite the life ahead of me, I see! I foresee moving back to MN and trying to make a living there as an artist. Might try and do music on the side. As much as I love the PNW, it is much too expensive for me (right now anyways). I wish to go home for a while, not just because I'm homesick, but to hone down on a few skills. I'd like to work on getting better with my harp and other instruments, and with my musical family back home, it might help me get out of my shell to play around them and get feedback.
To commemorate restarting my career in the arts, I decided to create a Facebook page and twitter account for my art business. I'll be selling mostly fantasy prints (they're a work in progress--will be posting progress on those sites and my instagram www.instagram.com/vagabondsaty…
. I've named it O' Pettirosso after a species of European robin. Their coloring reminds me of watercolors.
I'll be selling prints on Etsy, eventually. I just ordered some examples and hope to get them in the mail next week!
Another bonus to liking my facebook page... I'll be uploading harp/music videos to it as well. Should be fun!
