"Let's talk about the future."
So Eclipse is finally here, and people are..."less than stellar" about it. I'm not here to make a journal rant about every one of its failings, and there are quite a few. Nor will I be remiss and neglect to mention its strengths and improvements (profile banner, polls for everybody).
If I had to sum it up, I would say that Eclipse is a boisterous experiment in "hip" modernization whose (what should have been) history-making debut was sidelined by design flaws, productivity downgrades, numerous bugs, and a significant level of negative (and in some cases toxic) backlash from its passionate and highly vocal community.
All that being said, Eclipse is here and it's here to stay. And now we, the community, have some choices to make. Being rude to the staff is not going to fix the problems, and I'm sure they are aware of many of them. It's going to take something with more heart, and something much larger than what many people
