The Reunion by NyxenAvenger The Reunion by NyxenAvenger
They had reached the Hive Fortress.

Acauldrus and Xyr made their way up towards the throne room of Xanon, avoiding the fellow demons and mortals who seemed to recognise Xyr as she slid around, as the two Underspawn walked across one of the great bridges they witnessed a great floating creature shackled by chains, its eyes slowly forming and unforming as its grotesque tentacles shifted side by side, it made deep but somewhat soothing cries that drowned out the cries of pain below from the mortals. Acauldrus was awestruck as she leaned over the side of the bridge, in all her life she had never witnessed such a majestic creature. Xyr stood by the side of her, amused by her lack of speech.

"Nharr'xgh, an ancient star creature born from the corpse of grandfather. Mortals who utter or hear its name go mad and drives them to acts of violence, a powerful creature that could bend the fabric of space even." Xyr spoke as she looked towards Acauldrus.

"But even it fell before my celestial power." A deep booming voice drowned out the cries of mortals and Nharr'xgh as both the Underspawn looked towards the source of the noise.  Xyr gritted her sharp teeth as the being floated forwards with a smug smile on his disfigured face.

"Dad." Xyr uttered under her breath.

"My little Xyr." Xanon smiled a gruesome smile.

"Don't you dare call me that dad, not after what you did all those centuries ago!"

"Your experiments threatened the Fortress itself, Xanon had to take a little precaution."

Xyr was going to shout many insults, but before she could shout she noticed Xanon's gaze was on Acauldrus. It struck a chord of fear into the red-eyed Underspawn, as she was staring at the powerful being in the cosmos. Xanon looked up and down, as if he were analysing her.

"No need to explain yourself, I already know. Acauldrus, Xanon presumes, you share similar troubled thoughts Xanon has had the last few days."

"H-how did you-"
Acauldrus spluttered. Xanon pointed towards the eye above his crown.

"Xanon's eye sees all, and he sees Tytan alive and breathing in possession of the Malecendum."

"Tytan? Alive? Malikendem?"
Acauldrus spoke in a confused manner.

"Don't patronise me. It is an ancient artifact containing a fragment of power from the great Dark One Barasus. Deadly and volatile, it can be used by us Underspawn to destroy entire worlds and mow down civilisations, it has enough raw cosmic energy to shatter the barrier between Underrealm and Midrealm. For years I have searched to find and contain it, and now Tytan has it. Underrealm and Midrealm are under threat, and so Xanon shall answer that threat."

"How so all-powerful and almighty father?"
Xyr responded with sarcasm, which irritated Xanon but still he continued on.

"By sending a strike force of my most powerful and loyal soldiers down into Bloodspire Peak to retrieve it, as it is located there."

"That sounds like a genius plan, now if you excuse me dad I'm going back to my lab!"
Xyr shoved Xanon as she made her way up towards the science section of the Hive, Xanon made an inhuman, primal snort.

"Xyr is so much like myself. I want to thank you for bringing my daughter back to me, for that you are always welcome here. But that was not the only reason you took her here, wasn't it?" Xanon circled around Acauldrus, observing her delectable features. Acauldrus was getting tense, one wrong word and she could be the next head for decoration around the fortress.

"My lord, I have a sister and a cousin. They both reside on Midrealm, if what you say is the truth they will be subject to Tytan's wrath. I want to join this strike force of yours." Xanon looked her straight in the eye, one eye raised up.

"On normal grounds Xanon would refuse an offer like this, since my soldiers can get the job done. But the Malecendum is known to destroy and erase everyone that touches it, except for us Underspawn."

"So is it possible to join?"
Acauldrus smiled meekly at the Immortal Tyrant, he sighed to himself.

"Only as a precaution. Now go find my little Xyr, if she hasn't found the labs already. She had some prototypes locked away in that place when she left. When the horn blows, come to the barracks and join up with the strike force." Acauldrus promptly followed suit after Xyr's trail, leaving Xanon alone on the bridge. He crossed his arms behind his back and looked towards the stars.

His mind secretly troubled deep inside.

A reunion of sorts, and from the looks of it it's gone just swell.

Figured Xanon would be like a giant monster, but I'm liking the story. I also love Acauldrus's eyes open wide.

Does anybody in Underrealm actually have feet?

With the exception of some daemen, mortals and certain creatures, they don't have any feet.

So what does Acauldrus move about on? A slug tail?
NyxenAvenger Featured By Owner Oct 22, 2015  Hobbyist Digital Artist
She moves about with her tentacles.

Huh, I always thought Xanon would be bigger than that.
Djjacob1954 Featured By Owner Oct 23, 2015
I was thinking he'd be Kaiju-Sized.
