Very nice design. I like the condensed look and small counters. It gives the text a very nice texture.

Thanks so much. Cupid de Locke for me, is not my most proudest works. It's asymmetric counters give it personality, but made the type unbalanced. It was another earlier attempt at creating the formal counterpart to the LT Chickenhawk typeface. I was not entirely satisfied with my results, so I continued on the them of the typeface in another attempt, which resulted in Happy Phantom. But I am still not entirely satisfied. I don't know if in Happy Phantom I achieved what I intended. But overall I am happy with the the font variations of the typeface design (Cupid, Chickenhawk, and Happy) as I know it is a unique and original idea onto itself. I just had this idea for a slab serif, with these shapes in mind, the lowercase 'a' especially, I had to get it out. :D

You're actually right. I actually love characters like a and e in the oldstyle form you drew them in here but it disturbs the reading experience because most letters in Cupid de Locke have a vertical focus while letters like e are asymmetrical and bring the focus on the horizontals. Either way, it's a nice experiment, and I like the result of Happy Phantom.
