Manga/Anime Spotlight: azarath
Manga/Anime Spotlight is a weekly feature that highlights the different artists across the deviantART's Manga/Anime community, and is a portal to get to know a bit more about them and their works.
This week's feature is azarath
1.) To start off, what is your favorite medium and tools to use?Usually I start everything with a pencil sketch, then take it into Deleter Comic Works, Photoshop, or my favorite, Illustrator. I also love using Copic markers, but they get very costly.
2.) When you draw, do you plan everything out first, or do you just see where the drawing takes you?I have an idea in mind, but usually it's more of a case of "let's see what my skill level will actually allow me to do."
3.) On average, how long do you spend on a drawing?I depends on what I'm doing. Mostly nowadays I just doodle. A markered drawing would only take me a few hours. Illustrator can be a bit tedious, and I'm not the most efficient with it yet, so a full finished illustration can take me anywhere from 20 to 40ish hours.
4.) When did you first start drawing, and what made you start to draw in the manga/anime style?I really loved the bright color schemes and cell shading. It's one of the things that drew me to it as a kid. I really loved the style - how there could be so many different kinds but still be recognized as "anime".
5.) What are your inspirations for drawing?Music, mostly, but usually inspiration will sort of hit me out of nowhere, when I least suspect it. 
I'm also a big fan of historical costumes, especially early 20th century stuff, so I'll often go searching for inspirational outfits to draw.

Do you have any artists that you look up to?My favorite artists and creators are Naoki Urasawa, Nobiyuki Fukumoto, Sanami Matoh, Eichiiro Oda, Go Nagai, CLAMP, and may others. On DA, my favorite cartoonists include Phobs, and-babel-fell, jakface, Seitou, huanyuu, purenonsens, MissMatzenbatzen, TotenVeloren, denim2, yaichino, Ysa, Virus-AC and about a hundred others.
7.) Out of the works in your gallery, what are your five favorite pieces?

8.) Do you have any tips for young aspiring artists?PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and never ever stop! 
9.) Are there any other types of art that enjoy?I love art nouveau and art deco, as well as photography.
10.) Is there anything else that you would like to add?I'm trying very hard to get back to illustrating more, especially in traditional media! I hope you guys will stick around to see.
