Manga/Anime Spotlight: Gigicom
Manga/Anime Spotlight is a weekly feature that highlights the different artists across the deviantART's Manga/Anime community, and is a portal to get to know a bit more about them and their works.
This week's feature is Gigicom
My favorite tools are pencil and rubber but my favorite medium is digital media.
I draw sketches on paper and after that I scan them and working on them in Photoshop 7.0
So you can say I like mix tradition with digital
Well I always have some vision of what I want to draw but of course it can change during sketching.
Very often I sketch drawing 3 or 4 times and I’ve changed it continually until I’m satisfied with results. ( but I confess I’m never satisfied completely with results
)
So I have a basic idea but in the end it can change radically during sketching.
Long. About 13-18 hours. But this time includes break for tea and snacks.
I started my adventure with drawing when I was a little girl.
Those drawings were just a spontaneous vision of child’s imagination but at the same time they were very important to me and soon they become my beloved hobby and part of my life.
And when I was 13, reading another comic book in my friends house I felt in love with drawing for good.
After that I keep drawing and I am not even near where I want to be… I still have to practice my drawing skills a lot
What made me start to draw in the anime style?
Well it was the first style I thought I could try. The thing that had and influence on this decision was probably Kawaii magazine ( the polish magazine about manga and anime),which showed me my dear friend Kate.
Now I’m trying mix some different styles but I still have sentiment to anime style.
Life is the best inspirations for my drawings with Gigi. No wonder. My Gigi is my alter ego so she needs life’s experiences
Inspirations for fantasy drawings are usualy amazing friends tales, books (especially books about mythology of many culture), music (Loreena McKennitt helps me a lot with drawing) architecture and nature that is the best artist ever.
Many artist…too many(check my watch list here on DA
). But lately I’ve been charmed with Didier Crisse’s works.
Five?! I don’t know if I’ll find so much good works in my gallery
Well I will try :
I don’t think I could give any tips because I’m still getting know the drawing’s secrets
But my dear friends in art just keep practicing and be confident in yourself and what you have to offer. Of course be open to helpful criticism and other artists advice because thanks to them you can be better
.
And the most important thing: never give up your dreams. If you love the art, you must be true to it.
I enjoy to listen to music, reading good literature, watching film, photography, sculpture, and of course feeling paintings. But if you mean what other types of art I attend to do I say I like taking photographs, sculpture in wood and write something from time to time but I’m not good at those types of art
I feel honoured that I can be a part of this project.
I wish you lot of great inspirations in your lifes and be open to beauty around us.
