First time animating a basic walk cycle. It's still a bit clunky but eh. I mostly just wanted a general idea, so I didn't put in tweens or stretches. 40 frames.

Ohhh, it looks really cool!
I love the black behind her~
what did you use to animate?

I tried to animate Roqi doing some cool martial arts moves but put it on hold when gimp couldn't take the amount of frames anymore-- LOL

OMG! This is beautiful! I love the flowy black behind her. Her proportions are consistent and the follow through in the arch of her arms and leg are also well executed. Right now, the only drawback is that she looks rather stiff. She needs a bit of a bounce in her step... maybe a little bit of bounce in her hair. But EXCELLENT overall!

LOL So someone else said to take out the bounce. XD;;;
I'll keep experimenting with other animations. Right now cause there's only one set of tweens, there's no easing or stretching between each step.
I will def add the bounce to the hair next time. I added a bit but it was too subtle. I keep forgetting animation has to exaggerate. Q VQ
There's a bit of a clunkiness with her feet right now. I feel like the weight is like... too choppy? It'll take some experimenting.
If I get stuck, can I ask you for pointers? ; v;

Ahhh, I see.
I think her feet look solid and they bend at the correct parts. The clunkiness/stiffness might be fixed if you add a few more frames/tweens. You can get much smoother animation with more frames. If you're interested, you can look up "Animator's Survival Kit walk cycle" in google. It's a great book that breaks down animation and all it's principals. If you can find a digital copy of it, I can look up a few pages that pertain to your walk cycle.
And of course you can ask if you need pointers , I'd be more then glad to help ^_^

I actually did this off of the Animator's Survival Kit. XD;
My employer bought me the book for my work, and that was the reason why I started this to begin with. :D

It's so detailed :o How much time did this take? It looks pretty good!

the way she kinda leans forward makes me think of how I am when I get up in the morning --
the wave of darkness kinda helps too //smacked

Ah--- it's detailed because I abuse the liquify tool OTL It's actually not terribly detailed at all. XD;;;
I followed a really basic walk cycle guide so it was like... super not-thinking. I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it because I was just doing the basics.
It probably took about 8 hours.

Ohhh that makes a lot more sense -- isn't Ps the only program that offers a liquify tool?
Hmm unthinking or not, it's still a lot of frames to go through @.@ 8 hours sounds pretty reasonable
thanks for answering xD

This looks amazing, I am impressed! For your first time it does look very clean.  May I ask which program you used?

I used a walk cycle guide for the most part so there's not a lot of thinking involved in it.
I just used photoshop.
