Opposites Attract

It was an outrageously hot day in Ponyville. The town's resident Pegasi were working as hard as they could to keep the town shady, but even with the shade, the temperature was an outstanding 115 degrees. Rainbow Dash was working up quite a sweat moving the clouds to block the sunlight. Therefore, when the mayor called in the afternoon Pegasi, Rainbow Dash was extremely relieved. Rainbow Dash went to her favorite napping place, a hidden alcove in between two buildings in east Ponyville where she could be alone. Rainbow Dash was just getting settled in when she remembered something she had to do. "That silly clothing thing with Rarity," Rainbow Dash groaned as she got out of her alcove. Rainbow Dash flew over to Rarity's, still exhausted and sweaty. Rainbow Dash just shook her head at the door and opened. "Rainbow Dash!" Rarity exclaimed as Rainbow Dash walked into Rarity's shop. "I'm ready to try on your outfit things," Rainbow Dash explained. "Not in the shape that you're in!" Rarity exclaimed. "I don't know what you're talking about," Rainbow Dash chuckled. "You're all sweaty!" Rarity exclaimed. "Well I was working," Rainbow Dash explained. "Let's get you to the spa now!" Rarity exclaimed, pushing Rainbow Dash out the door.
The two arrived at the spa a few minutes later. "Get me a bath!" Rarity yelled as she entered the spa. "Yes miss Rarity," one of the workers responded. The bath was prepared and the two ponies got in. A bowl of sponges sat at the side of the large tub. The two ponies bathed in silence. The room was silent until Rarity dunked her head under to wash the shampoo out of her mane. When Rarity popped back up, Rainbow Dash was watching her with interest. "Yes Rainbow Dash?" Rarity asked, noticing Rainbow Dash watching her. "Your mane, it's..." Rainbow Dash started. "Never mind," Rainbow Dash muttered. Rainbow Dash dove under the water, fruit to avoid Rarity's question. When Rainbow Dash resurfaced, Rarity was watching her. "You know what I just realized?" Rarity asked. "What?" Rainbow Dash asked, afraid of the answer. "We have nothing in common," Rarity answered, tilting her head a little bit. "You know what they say," Rainbow Dash said, floating over to Rarity. "Opposites attract," Rarity responded, looking into Rainbow Dash's eyes with interest. "Exactly," Rainbow Dash whispered as she locked lips with Rarity. "Rarity! Rainbow Dash!" The voice of Pinkie Pie came from the bowl of sponges. The two ponies ending their moment and turned towards Pinkie Pie's head poking out of the bowl of sponges. "Pinkie Pie, you are so random," Rainbow Dash laughed nervously.
"What was that?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Nothing," Rarity answered hastily. "Yeah, we're just two girls hanging out at the spa," Rainbow Dash assured. "Okay," Pinkie Pie said before sinking back into the bowl of sponges.
"Rarity, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure what came over me," Rainbow Dash excused herself, blushing. "I didn't say that I was mad," Rarity chuckled, blushing also. "Thank you Rainbow Dash," Rarity whispered and the two ponies locked lips once again.
A few weeks later, Pinkie Pie arrived at Rarity's house for no apparent reason. "Why hello Pinkie," Rarity welcomed Pinkie into her shop. "Rarity, I'm afraid that you will need to give me all the proceeds from the past 4 months," Pinkie Pie said as she closed the door to Rarity's shop. "Or what?" Rarity asked, fear creeping into her voice. "Or every pony in Ponyville will know your story," Pinkie Pie answered. "Why would you do that?" Rarity asked. "Because I am throwing a high-budget party, and I need some funding," Pinkie Pie answered. "Go ahead, tell them. I don't care," Rarity bluffed. Pinkie Pie just grinned and opened Rarity's shop's door. Pinkie Pie backed out of the door, leaving Rarity alone to contemplate what she'd just done.
Rainbow Dash was practicing one of her routines for the wonder-bolts when she heard Spike calling her. Rainbow Dash swooped down to the ground, landing a few feet away from Spike. "Rainbow Dash! Rarity needs to see you!" Spike exclaimed before running off to Rarity's shop. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes but followed Spike nonetheless.
When Rainbow Dash and Spike arrived at Rarity's shop, Spike opened the door for Rainbow Dash. "Here you go," Spike chuckled nervously. Rainbow Dash stepped into the store hesitantly. As soon as Rainbow Dash entered the shop, Spike closed the door behind her. Rainbow Dash looked around the empty shop. The next thing she knew, Rarity was kissing her. "What was that?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, backing off. "Pinkie Pie, she tried to blackmail me with our secret. I let her tell the whole town," Rarity explained sheepishly. "You what?" Rainbow Dash gasped, surprised more now then before at the spa. "It's just that I'm tired of hiding my true emotions. Rainbow Dash, I've..." Rarity explained, stopping halfway through her sentence. "You've what?" Rainbow Dash asked, curious of the end of Rarity's explanation. "I've... Always had feelings for you," Rarity answered, her voice a mere whisper. "And when did these feelings start?" Rainbow Dash asked, looking straight into Rarity's eyes. "When I first met you," Rarity whispered, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Rarity, I... Have had feelings for you too," Rainbow Dash whispered back. "When I was showing off those wings Twilight made for me, I was just trying to get your attention," Rarity whispered. "They worked," Rainbow Dash whispered, and the two locked lips once again. "Rainbow Dash, I love you," Rarity whispered. "Rarity, I love you too," Rainbow Dash whispered back.

And The Two Lived Happily Ever After.
