Have a black protagonist in a setting in Africa so they can't use the historical accuracy excuse? (AC: Origins) - They get mad.

Literally make your own game with a black protagonist (Tales of Kenzera: Zau)? - They still get mad.

Yet, Not a single person who has complained about this samurai being Black would have done so if it were a White samurai, just as they didn't in the numerous examples of media starring an anglo-european samurai i.e. Team Ninja's Noir series.
