With that they forced me back up against a wall, now I had to fight them. I thrust my cane out and feel the thud as it hit the witch, with the familiar topple a second later. I then rush away from the wall and swinging my arm forward, my Feint Attack doing the aiming for me, and I struck the witch once more! I push the cane down onto the fiend, and I told the witch that-”
“Why would you tell a witch anything?” the Sneasel almost toppled at the sudden voice, turning his head over to the source. The Vulpix that had spoken out leaned back, shaking her head slowly. “Witches are dangerous, none of them would be as stupid as you're making them out to be, Jett.”
“Grace, can you at least wait until the end of the story?” the Sneasel huffed, leaning to the side and feeling along the dirt floor until he got the familiar feel of a smooth straight stick. He grabbed onto his walking cane and then stood back up, holding it in front of him as a warning signal. “Anyways, I told the witch-”
“You're not even a real Witch Hunter, you made this story up,” Grace sighed, the audience slowly starting to dissipate.
“Not true!” Jett made his way over to Grace, stopping when his cane bumped into something. “I have killed a witch before!”
Grace rolled her eyes, turning around as she felt the stick gently prod her foot. “Sure, sure, and you perfect 20/20 vision.”
Jett huffed, following the sound of Grace's feet as they pushed against the dirt, his eyes faded and unfocused. “So why did you come?” he asked, making sure to hold a tone of formality with the question so as to avoid coming off as rude.
“Well, you know how I said I was looking to get into the Guilds?” Grace asked, turning her head to look at the Sneasel. “Well I found a way in. We can work as assistants to the Guild, like freelancers, and it's possible to become a part of the Guild through enough work,” she answered, grinning. “Are you still volunteering your help? Because if you've changed your mind I'm fine with going in alone.”
“I want to help out,” Jett answered straight away. “There are still witches running around causing chaos, and we have to get rid of them.”
Grace let out a sigh, looking back. “And there we go with the witch hunter business again.”
“I am a witch hunter!” Jett called out again, followed by stopping and taking in a deep breath. “I just haven't gotten the chance to prove myself yet.”
Grace shook her head, keeping her voice silent for the moment to keep Jett unaware. “I don't want you getting hurt because you think you can take on a witch.”
“I can take on a witch,” Jett added on, lifting his head. “Where do we sign up?”
Grace let out another sigh, looking down to the ground. “Fine, I'll take you there.”
"Thank you." Jett let out a sigh, his stick bumping into a rock. He briefly paused, lifting a leg overneath it before continuing on.
As Grace walked ahead of him, she began wiggling her hips slowly, smirking. “You know I'm still open for a relationship, how about we hook up~?” she said aloud, smirking softly.
Jett shook his head, shrugging. “Every time you ask that I give the same answer, I like us as friends.”
Grace let out a small chuckle, rolling her eyes. “Well maybe one day your answer's a little different...” She kept walking ahead, smirking as she led the way.
