Halisaurus

Halisaurus arambourgi is a recently discovered (2005) mosasaur from the Maastrichtian of Morocco. The type species of the genus is H. platyspondylus from New Jersey. Mosasaurs are a group of marine lizards that thrived during the cretaceous period and are closely related to the modern monitor lizards and Komodo dragons.
