Nsio Pose Practice 9: Anon Party Hard! [Extra]

I was planning to continue more with the Anon Party Hard pose practice, but in the end I got only three new poses done. I should have drawn yet another patch of 3-4 poses for next row to tie "the story" together, but I found that they had nothing to do with the actual dancing practice and thus weren't that spectacular in dynamism point of view. So, I'll share the three (or 6) poses I got done.

8. The difficulty level got higher the instant I added Sayaka. Drawing believable character interaction is worth practicing. Getting the size difference right is another challenge.
9. This pose was the hardest for me. Sayaka blocks most crucial body parts of Anon, so making sure that they are correctly positioned was challenging.
10. Legs in this one was quite an challenge. It was hard to place both characters on the same plane.

The next poses would have been something like this:
11. Sayaka is going for drancing practice. All this was just her imagination, in hope of learning to dance like a boss.
12. Sachiko is already waiting. She is ready to teach dancing. (she is quite knowledgeable of all manner of sports and fitness stuff since she is a sports therapist).
13. Sachiko introduces Sayaka to her dancing partner, who happens to be the guy who retrieved her bag *BAM BAM BAA!*
14. It was quite a shock to Sayaka and she fainted before even starting.

Here is the full pose practice updated:

How long does this take on average? How many mistakes until the preferred results?

Around 1-3 hours per one scene. And too many :D

Curiosity peaked my interest at your comment "Sayaka blocks most crucial body parts of Anon, so making sure that they are correctly positioned was challenging."
When I am drawing characters where one is in front of the other, I always do a rough sketch in pencil the full body of both characters and then erase the inside of the character in front before continuing. Is this not how other artists work?

I do that and I believe many artists do that as well. The problem is that if there are issues in the sketch and I need to redraw some parts during lineart phase, then it becomes challenging (unless I draw a new sketch, which I do if I have the patience).

AH gotcha. Do you work only on a computer? If so I have only done a picture like that once and the lineart was very difficult

Did you study animation? Because your work has SO much life!

Thanks. I haven't studied animation, but I have researched animations. I have focused a lot on dynamism of pose and movement. I could probably do animations as well, though that would require some more experimenting and practice.

Thank you so much for the reply. To you have any suggestions on where online I could research animation?

Youtube is a good source for nearly anything. Anime series that are animated by Kyoto Animation Studio generally have really good flow in animation and thus worth close inspection. There are many animations in Deviantart as well.
