Harmonious Melody Archenemy: The Song of Silence

Alright, next up is a brand new Harmonious Melody archenemy! Meet the Song of Silence, whose sound sculpting abilities render Melody's musical powers null!

ORIGIN

As a young adult Alyster Mathers had always wanted to be a star musician, but lacked any form of talent to make his dreams come true. Possessing a natural aptitude for science, Alyster felt he could improve his career using the science of sound, and made innovative technology to make up for his musical shortcomings. While these inventions ultimately did nothing to kickstart his artistic career, Alyster soon found himself approached by numerous investors who took a great interest in his revolutionary audio technology, and soon Alyster build himself a multi-million dollar audio industrial empire from which Alyster found himself contracted by dozens of record labels who used his technology to boost the careers of many rising and famous musicians. However, a small part of Alystar held on to his musical dreams, and despite all his years of success and profit he slowly began growing resentful of the musicians whose lives and careers were made successful with aid from his technology, they all their success was really because of him and that they were living the lives he always wanted to.

The day Alyster finally snapped was when Melody Sharp had publically revealed herself as the newest incarnation of the Bard and reintroduced herself to the world as superhero musician Harmonious Melody. Alystar had devoted his life to music, but couldn’t handle that a recent rising musician, one whose record label contracted Alyster’s audio innovation for Melody’s concerts and recordings, was chosen as an avatar of music over him was the last straw that broke Alyster psychologically. Using his latest audio-technological breakthrough that he had built for a government contract - technology that could absorb sound from outside sources in a form of sound sculpting, effectively muting/nullifying the area,  and converted it into weaponized means -  he created the identity of ‘The Song of Silence”, a mass murder and serial killer targeting musicians and using their music against them to kill them and the fans that loved them. His first, most frequent, and recurring target has always been Harmonious Melody, with his technology not only making him a team buster against her allies in the Golden State Garrison, but also serves as a kryptonite weakness that neutralizes Melody’s powers completely.

Powers/Abilities

• Song of Silence’s suit is outfitted with state-of-the-art sound sculpting technology that absorbs music and sound from outside sources and weaponizes it against others, ultimately creating a mute effect within the area. His technology means that Melody cannot play her music to use her powers.

First of all, before anyone asks- yes, this villain is inspired by the Simon and Garfunkel song, which I can't legally name him after due to copyright issues.

Song of Silence was created in mind when I decided to make Harmonious Melody leader of the Golden State Garrison. I wanted a villain that could acts as a kryptonite foe to Melody in that she wouldn't be able to play music (the source of her powers) while fighting him, while at the same time making him a team buster-level villain for when he targets Melody amongst the Golden State Garrison. I had like the idea that he would use sound sculpting to absorb noise and music all around him to weaponize it back at his foes, while also muting or silencing the area while he does it. His origins were an idea I had for a while now about a musician with no talent but tries to make up for it with science. I built on that by having Song of Silence be an audio millionaire whose tech and products most musicians use in their careers, and effectively he's jealous that they are living his musician dream of his equipment.
