What up guys! We're excited to bring to you the concept artwork for Governess's official new design, done by our incredible artist @mariananaca , whom you might remember as the artist for Empress! As you can see, she did an amazing job redesigning the Forever Godmother into a look that's more fitting her character and inspirations, helping to sell her apart from the other more "traditional" superheroes of NRG Comics.

So, after we debuted the official profile for NRG's premier Magical Superhero, The Governess, we were a little disappointed that people didn't react much to her new design. The character herself got a lot of comments though, but the more we thought about it and inquiring feedback from some fellow creators, we realized that her new design just wasn't fitting her character. So, after brainstorming, we decided to put our good friend Mari Naca to work to designing a new, more fitting look for the Forever Godmother.

We realized that like most magical superheroes, Governess isn't a traditional superhero. So instead we went back to the ones who inspired her to draw inspiration again for her new design, which were Mary Poppins and BBC's Doctor Who. Using our original base design as a starting point, we felt that like Mary Poppins and Doctor Who Governess should have a very obscure and unusual fashion sense, something that would allow her to blend in with modern times but obviously make her stand out as a qwuirky caretaker, never giving one second thought that she would actually be a reincarnating immortal guardian to all the children of the world and magic itself. In a sense it's suppose to make her look dated and old fashioned. Oh yeah, and we decided to bring back the umbrella too because it was a foolish mistake to get rid of it and it offers so much dynamic posing potential.
