Sad AppleJack

Fantastic piece of artwork we got there. I am absolutely in favor of the shading and the realism in this piece. The tears and the eyes look so magnificent. You totally capture AJ's emotions here. However I have a bit of a concern with the way you have made the fur on her cheeks. On her right cheek it looks a bit chopped up and almost rushed as when the left cheek has a more softer stroke effect. That's the only thing that kills the piece for me in my opinion. It seems like you tried to use realism in two different ways with fur and shapes. My advise to you is to continue to make fur more noticeable near the muzzle. You were doing a good job with it and suddenly I felt that you have stopped. I have to take note on shading AJ's hair. Since you are using a dark backround there should be more shadows/shading mainly on AppleJack's hair. There shouldn't be any light on that hair since there isn't any type of light source being seen in the piece. Same advise goes with the 2 white dots in her eyes, they should be in a more darker color. I also felt that her ears were a bit too small for her head. But other than that great job.
