Description
I decided to play my part and participate in this little action from Hyan's journal (it is somewhat serious in tone):
I may not appear too active on this site as much as I used to be (real life has taken a lot of priority + some things I can't post yet) but this is one of the sites I check daily both for professional and social reasons. I was never a fan of the change, but I tried giving it a fair shake.
While my account is 10 years old, 2012/2013 was the year I returned to art, and dA was my first platform that helped refuel my passion to draw again, and to improve to the skill level I'm at now. I met all of my current friends through here, including some that have stayed with me for years to come~ seeing this site go through the motions has sometimes been nice, but also rough, and I grew fond of it. Just like the sentiment in the journal above, I will stay with this site, but I will likely be moving my commission information to a different document when I reopen again. I'm sad to see the site change to what it is, but I won't forget the nice things it has given me so far, as they have changed my life for the better <3
Sentiments on Eclipse:
Removing the old layout has been the nail in the coffin that told me that dA/Wix staff is poorly managed, and does not listen to user feedback, especially by releasing an incomplete product. If they plan to improve over the next few years, I hope one feature will be a compacted view of their site without all the excess waste of space. I dislike the profile very much: the large, overbearing header. The lack of upscale in icons/banners. Lack of customization that made old dA charming (byebye Core, was the sole reason I had you anyways). And worst of all, the giant spacing/margins between things. Simple is good, but simple also means an efficient use of space, and this was a critical failure.

dA will change, I will stayMost of you are aware that DeviantArt will fully implement Eclipse on the 20th of May
And I feel you all when it comes to disliking the majority of design choices.
I personally don't mind site changes as long as it remains practical-- which didn't happen ( - w-")
Anyway, I will not be going anywhere, and I will post here as usual!
I do plan on moving my commissions and FAQ link to new pages, but they will be linked on my profile as always.
As a farewell to the current design:
I plan to screeenshot my profile and draw my persona "praying" in the corner, and post it the day of the Eclipse release, with the title "RiP old dA".
You can join in if you wish!
If your profile is not customized, you can screenshot your favorite page/most used page and use that instead.
If you are not an artist, but writer, you can instead write a poem on top of the screenshot C:
Or if you have any other idea that's about cherishi

I feel your pain, I had just re-coded everything and now it means nothing.
I learned it all for nothing and now they are taking more away...
