When the dust settles the three kumba have managed to live another day. Though it would seem some are worse than others. “Are we all alive?” Malik groaned out as he was the first to stand. He heard a muffled groan from Nina who also got up slowly. Rian spoke out a “yes” as he too got back up, shaking the dust from his fur. “Ugh..that was awful..” Nina shrugged a little “Yeah but at least we’re alive, hopefully it doesn’t come back. But knowing that thing it won't stop attacking till it’s dead.” Malik nodded, Rian groaned in response. “Great.” Soon enough, after they’ve collected themselves, the three head off into the desert in search of a place to rest. But in their walking Malik can't help but glance at the bloody wounds staining Rian’s fur, and his slight limp that is just getting worse the more they walk. “Hold on…we should rest for a moment.” Nina paused and looked at him in surprise “What? Really? With that thing out there? Malik we need to keep moving.” Malik let out a soft

It wasn’t long till the beast returned, the large owl managed to find their den, but thankfully the entrance was far too small for it to even stick its head in. However, now it seemed to guard it, sitting atop the canyon walls watching the entrance for movement. It would even hoot as a reminder that it was still there, as if daring the two to come out. Malik peered out once more only for piercing eyes to stare back, unmoving. He returned inside and settled beside Nina “It’s no use…it’s staying put.” The golden zebra striped male sighed out, settling down beside Nina who was now for the most part healed! A bald spot still remained along her neck and shoulder blades, and only time would tell if those markings would remain as scars. “Surely it has to eat at some point right?” Nina, a sand colored jill with a scruffy mane spoke up with hopeful annoyance. Another soft droning hoot echoed from the exterior of the cave. Malik perked at the sound and let out another dejected sound “I think

Faera could feel her paws growing numb and glancing behind her she could see the clear trail of blood she left. To make matters worse the snow was beginning to pick up, dark angry clouds looming overhead. She swayed for a moment, steadying herself. Just a little further… trudging on, she soon found a place to rest..thank goodness. A shallow, but cozy hole, likely a long abandoned whelping den. It was hard to tell, seeing as the den smelled bitter. It was either this or freezing in the snow out there. Limping into the hole she laid down as gently as she could given her exhausted state. She nearly nodded off when she suddenly became aware of the blood trickling down her side and onto the ground beside her. Begrudgingly, she lifted her head and began to lick her wounds clean, taking the time to relax..clean her wounds. It was only then she gathered enough energy to grow curious about the smelly source in this den. Looking about the dark dirt walls she saw it, a small, half buried bundle.

Draven and Nayanathula have been walking for ages. Their current den had flooded thanks to the wet season finally rolling around. So currently, they are den hunting. “Hm..how about we stop here for today.” Nayanathula spoke. A dark, cold pelted, jill with seemingly eternally closed eyed. Meanwhile her pelt lay adorned with many bright blue eye spots that seemed to leave nothing unseen. Before Draven could even speak she found a moss covered stone to rest upon. Then again, he wasn’t particularly one to disobey her orders. So he instead sat at the base of the rock to get some rest as well. Draven was much darker than Nayanathula, his pelt was desaturated, with darker fur tainting his underbelly as though he’d waded through gray mud. His eyes and fangs being the only bright things about him. “Would you get me something to eat darling?” Nayanathula asked sweetly while leaning over the rock. It was a question, however the answer only had one. “Of course I would.” He replied, his tail gently

O’wren clambered up a tree with a mouth full of feathers, she’d managed to kill a small bird just earlier and was now retreating to eat in peace. Finding a nice fork in the tree she settled down and began to pluck the feathers free, snuffing and plucking till she made it to the meat. It wouldn’t be nearly enough to keep her fed for the day but it was a welcome snack. Munching away at her meal there is a shudder of leaves above her. She pays no mind to it as Ahrina peaks through the foliage, her lighter green, striped pelt blending much better into the surrounding tree than O’wren’s amber and sun-spotted hide. “Ah, welcome back! Is that for me?” Ahrina teased, scooting in to act as though she was going to steal the bird only for O’wren to place a paw on her face “Go get one yourself.” The amber jill scoffed playfully and just continued to eat. “You’re more than capable.” she added on once she swallowed her bite of bird. The green jill huffed like a welp and laid down “Don’t wanna.”

Malik sat by Nina's side while she rested. She was far more wounded than he was..but he was by far no fighter either and Nina was tough. He laid coiled around her flank while licking the large wound across her shoulder blades. It had stopped bleeding now at least but he couldn’t just leave the wound open like this. Malik stands and steps over Nina. “I will be right back..I promise.” with that Malik heads toward the cave entrance. There’s no sound outside, but knowing owls there likely wouldn’t be. However, peaking out, he doesn’t see the beast and tentatively leaves the den. Trotting along he smells the air. He knows there’s a path to the crossroads in the canyon and that means there’s likely a small care pack somewhere. He would take Nina to the crossroads..but she was badly injured as is and both of them were exhausted. There was no way he’d be able to win a fight in this state. Being tossed about had his head and back aching enough as is. Soon he caught the scent of it, the bitter

Far north of Ibea, blood lotus gently bob on the ocean surface as a sea fog rolls in. The plants and anything above the water slowly frosting over in an icey haze. However just below the water’s surface Feara slowly swims through the tall blood lotus stalks with a small procession of fish behind her. Today she feels just as the sea does, gentle and calm. Swimming up to a stalk she uses her webbed claws to latch on and eat the pearlescent fruits of the plant. Her scaled companions swarm her as she eats. What small flecks she doesn’t manage to get into her mouth are gobbled up by the little fish. She’s been underwater for some time now only occasionally breaching for air. Why bother with the surface when food is plenty and the water is warm. Well, to her it is thanks to her thick fur coat and tolerance to the cold. Moving on to the next stalk she once more picks it clean before returning to a small clearing in the kelp. A small rocky divot lined in seagrass. Settling into the nook she

Malik and Nina have become quite good friends since visiting the crimson spires and, while their respective territories are quite far from one another, they meet half way at a small canyon where they chat, hunt, and just enjoy each other's company. “I’ve had a welp, a girl” Malik states with a tinge of embarrassment in his voice, after all, at the Crimson spires Malik seemed pretty adamant on not mating that season. Nina rolled over from her side to instead lay upright, kicking up some sand in her scramble “No way!! Really?” Malik laughed and gave a little nod, looking out over the carved landscape where the two sat catching up. “I know, I’m still getting used to it. Sadly her mother plans to take her back to her own tribe. But I could always visit.” The golden striped kumba slumps his head down on the sand, stretching in his laid position. Nina tilts her head and offers a slight nudge to Malik’s shoulder; “Are you doing alright..? Your first welp is going to be whisked away. It must
