I also have to be honest with you, sometimes I think the same way too. I too don't have many friends in real life too and sometimes I used ask myself if any of these people, people whom I've never talked to or see physically, who I message online really are my friends.
what is a friend? friends are people you spend time with, people who help you when you need it, people who give you advice and people who listen to you and vice versa.
now the real question is; does doing any of that online, where you don't even see their faces make the quality of your bond and fellowship with one another decrease the quality and authenticity of it? for if words typed on a keyboard hurt so much that people would feel genuine hurt, wouldn't that be the same with words typed on a keyboard that heal and bond?
but if you're looking for a short answer: it's yes, I do think of you as a friend, even if we never see each other face to face.
