well, this puts the message across better than my previous stamp did.
don't you just adore how some people always think the entire fucking Bioma depends exclussively on their beloved "majestick" Apex Predator that just looks like their pet and has absolutely nothing to do with Plants, Fungi, Insects and Bacteria (and i'm only talking about organisms here).
don't get me wrong, i'm not denying the importance of all species, but if we go to the most crucial for the continuation of biological cycles, i'm sorry to announce you that your cute mammals come faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from first. there are other reasons you could argue in favour of the conservation of your fevrit anemuhl, but stop acting like they are the pinnacle of all living things and the rest of the ecosystem is just an inanimated scenery or an excuse for their "cute paws" to stand in. and sorry, but from the moment someone complains about "ebul hyomanz" paying attention to other group of animals that they dislike, with poorly built arguments that oversimplify the role and importance of entire groups of very heterogeneous species, is when i can't take them seriously at all.

Some serve as Umbrella species in ecology wich hence allow to conserve other species as well.

I'm well aware of the concept of an umbrella species. The argument of this stamp is "your favourite animal doesn't inherently have more right to live than others", and it was sparked after one such discussion.

Yeah,I agree :) No animal is "more important" than the others...maybe bacteria even are, because without them no animal would exist. :XD: No bacteria,no turkey.

I totally agree, I LOVE owls, but every animal is VERY vital to the survival of it's ecosystem, heck owls are as good as an bacteria, because you know without bacteria owls wouldn't exist so xD

I fucking love cats, but what did I do when I saw feral cat hunting? Well, sure I didn't like the thought, but I understand why it's necessary. Feral cats are dangerous to the envirement and should be hunted to prevent them from killing all the birds and everything like that.

I love a lot if animals, but I don't shove it in people's faces.

Every animal has the same amount of importance, right? No animal is better than the other. They all have a big part in the ecosystem

I completely adore cats and secretary birds, but I don't see how they can be important to the ecosystem.

they both are indeed important to the ecosystem c; they are not, however, more important than the humblest bacteria. It's all a matter of balance ^^

Otters aren't more important than any other aquatic mammal.
They just happen to be interesting to me.

Fully agreed with you. Just because something looks like this or is a member of this group doesn't make it any more/less special/important than others.

I once saw a comment from an ignorant fanboy on a forum that basically implies that birds being dinosaurs downgrades birds.

I find it annoying when people overrate/underrate animals based on what they are, and on favoritism.

Yes, he actually said that. He was a cat fanboy and somewhat of a hater of extinct animals.

Oh dear I feel your pain. Fluff has, on some people, the power of killing brain cells.

The idiot who inspired this stamp would say birds were "less deserving of protection" that woofs because they are "a less advanced form of life"
1000 gray wolves in his own tiny country were sacred, but ten thousand species of birds across the globe were apparently "all the same" and undeserving of protection because there's "too many of them" (I don't even need to list all the logical flaws on this) and they are "overprotected".

The guy who inspired this stamp would also say really insane amounts of incredibly idotic crap, such as that habitat was purposefully degraded in his country so more birds survived and poor poor mammals died... as if most bird species wouldn't need specific habitat X_X.

I'm a bird watcher, and he also thought I got paid for it. The levels of stupidity people can reach out of blind fanatism are unbelievable.

I recently worked at the zoo, and even though the birds (especially the raptors) stole my heart like the always do, I still loved the other animals as well. This includes all of the big cats and the wolves. It is always sad when any organism is gone forvever. Here's to missing the moa, and every other extinct organism. :(

Yeah really.

It kind of pisses me off how many people hate bees and will scream at them and stomp them if one happens to just be flying nearby. Don't they realize that most of their food exists because of bees? Or how people really hate lizards and frogs and slimy creatures or ugly critters or anything with more than four legs. And especially spiders; people hate those. But nope, gotta love foxes/wolves/lions, right? Because furry animals are kawaii desu.
