I'm no longer an artist. I worked self employed as an illustrator, animator, mural painter and graphic designer from 2000-2010. Most years my income was below poverty level. It took me several years to get hired. Maybe 200 to 300 resumes. As far as I can tell, it's hard to make a living unless you're employed. It's hard to find paying projects... as far as i can tell. I advertised only in the least 2 years. I mailed 3000 postcards to addresses of art directors. The addresses were purchased. In the last 2 years i payed to be on several illustration portfolio sites. None of the advertising brought any results. I was with an art rep for 7 years.
You have a style that i share similar to. i don't paint, but i use photoshop for mine, but your colors as well as the vivid cartoon details feels very simial to mine. I like the transformations especially the best as thats exatly what i do. i start with a line or a picture and let my mind and pen do the rest. Your art is more than art to me, your the first person i have come across that i can feel alive in and smile.
