Fan fiction for TES IV: Oblivion, dwelling a little on how my Dunmer Illari (Grandma of Illa from Skyrim!) got her shapely butt landed in the Imperial prison at the beginning of the game. Apparently, she arrived from Morrowind to Cheydinhal and got well-acquainted with the local corrupt guard captain, Ulrich Leland, as well as few of the prominent residents, early on.

As for the Dunmer words, I found a very comprehensive dictionary at an ES role-play blog. I am not sure about the extent to which these words are fan-made, though; I am merely using them to create what George Sand called ‘couleur locale’.

And the neck, erm, comes from this:

As it is freshly carved into my visual memory right now- I gotta  say.... Hoooo....*wipes sweat from forehead* That lash scene....B'vek!...I'm still out of breath!!  Every lash left me shuddering right with her, but the way she handled the entire situation was so beautifully definitive of her character. Calm, cool, quiet. But sooooo full of life and emotions that she doesn't let anyone else see.
Mr Modryn sure came in just in time; I was about to dive into the canvas and commit foul murder. :P
You really nailed Leland's disgusting character- and having the arrayal of Dunmer in in Cheydinhal and watching the scene really drove the situation home.  "the blurred spots that kept crawling in front of her eyes, each one the size of a shalk, and about just as slow and clumsy." I love this parallel!!

To the rescue. Oooh! This made me so happy! The knight in slightly tarnished armour rushes madly in...ready to tear that s.o.b. limb from limb...and he doesn't even know her yet. You write the Bestestest first meetings!!

And the scene switching!! Vivid, exciting, and draws the reader in like a whirlpool. If the reader could be more drawn in. :P
I am ever impressed by your skills!

Being inside Illari's brain is a trip in itself. As she works through the language, or feels her surroundings so beautifully, as she reasons with the unreasonable laws and customs of Cyrodiilic society... It's the closest thing, to me, to being a Morrowind Dunmer, in person, for real. Your imagination is incredible. And, oh gawds, that backstory! Few words to lay some colourful, amazing foundations. It's beautiful how she began with those greedy eyes, taking in everything and anything around her. <3
Just the simple things, like the tent flapping in the storm and the blighted meat do so much for spicing and illustrating a culture. And the way she replaces words with Velothi ones adds some very real, tangeable local colour. ;)

....Oh and.... dat neck. <3 Thank you for that! :D

The 'part 1' thing. It makes me very happy. ;D
