Ok, so... I'm sitting here, considering starting work on the album cover since I haven't heard from the supposed maker of it in a long time.

Now, the sad thing is that I finally have an idea, and it'll basically be tragically typical of my style (female face-based) + a twist of course.

Now, it's not very original I know, and I've done it before, but wtf, right? Does Iron Maiden or Megadeth ever do something new and revolutionary with their covers? It's always the same damn demon on every cover. :)

So I think I'm allowed to repeat myself too as long as it fits the theme of the album. And I've found something that does.

Even if it's means doing what I always do.

Would you hate me if I did? ... Or is that just cool, and "us"...? :)

Do your thing. It can't be anything else than awsome anyway.

Personally, I love your style, man. It's grungy yet elegant at the same time. I honestly think that if you did another album cover with your same style, it would be great.

As it looks now, I will. :)

I say keep to the style. It'd be nice to have a cover similiar to the RE of Redeemer.

Yes, it kind of has become a style that I want to project in association with Machinae. It works for us. :)

I'm a little partial to the re-release album cover of DXM, for certain reasons. The Underground cover for Redeemer is pretty sweet. I guess I prefer the metalic blues and blacks over bright white covers, despite how awesome the image is on the Retail cover.

I think if you find your own groove that you enjoy, by all means stick with it. As you said, just look at Iron Maiden!

I'm looking forward to whatever it is!

Keep the female face and a twist - keeping an identity is important for people to think of something when they see something else: whenever I see a piece of work in that style, I wonder if it'd make a good MaSu cover ^-^

In terms of consistency, I'd say prog music is the one music that remains, thus far, quite consistent; mostly with symbolic and computer-generated imagery that is either supposed to mean something deep down or just supposed to represent the album's name (Roine Stolt's ''Wall Street Voodoo'' or Magellan's ''Impossible Figures'';).

As for MaSu, it works wonders to use the female-face + a twist method, and let me tell you why.

Firstly, let's take Deus Ex Machinae cover. It's perfect; an utter representation of the name, and with Flagcarrier in the list, the female figure kind of emphasizes the soft side of MaSu; the fact that she's naked is a good way of putting out your ''in-your-face'' approach to lyrical themes that you use, and the Trinity (a symbol, rather than an image, which makes it more powerful by default:)) is there.

Redeemer was more guitar-driven or so I hear, so I'd say that cover works just as well - more human, less computer-ish, and the colors on the logo go for the crunching potential of ROCK the album holds. And the human side to it all serves as a great message.

So... I'll tell ya this, just do what you want to do with it, and I'll guarantee that the results will be wonderous. I mean, here is my ''bullshit answer''; if the feeling is right, then so will the thing itself.

Thanks... That sounds about right. :)

You're the only one that can capture the feel of MaSu in an image. I say go for it.

I like the concept you've got going, Gaz. :) I'd like to see maybe a different character. Maybe Sidney has a sister? :P

Maybe... I've got an idea now, and Gaijin will help me do it. Hopefully it'll be a perfect cover, even though it's technically not very original... But then again, what album cover ever is? :)

can't wait to see it :) you know thats the truth :D

If the album art for the new album looks anything near as gorgeous as your last 6 or so works, then I am looking forward to it almost as much as the songs. It would be interesting to see you go in a completely risk-ay direction sometime though :)

PS: decided on the name of the album yet?

Yeah... I got an idea now, and it seems it'll be kind of what I always do, only with a slight twist. It works perfect for the album theme, though.

And yes we have a title, but I'm not ready to disclose it yet. There might be clues around though. :)

Rob, none of us could EVER hate you, no matter what you did. Or didn't do. I mean, you haven't come to the States but I don't hate you, do I? Nope!

 Love ya, kiddo!
