Caelum Sky - Chapter 33
"Oh god oh god" I ran like a desperate little thing, bolting straight north. Just keep heading north; go straight north until it the ocean faded away, then go northwest without another thought. Just..north, keep going north.
I killed her. My steps pushed faster.
"Would you hold on a second? Maybe we can figure this damn thing out!" Nona bitched as I coughed and wheezed, exhausted already. They'd sealed all the energy the colus had, that black smoke only able to barely give another form, completely useless and white and tiny as it was. I didn't have that boundless energy, I couldn't fly, I couldn't skip frantically through space like I once could. I was just one little disabled dog/goat demon, running flat out on my own power. I was not as athletically fit as I thought.
"You figure it out, you're the one with the time, let me just run!" The two of us were bickering and fighting like children inside this frantic brain, both wanting the opposite. Nona wanted to stop a

I was afraid of this. Instantly this meeting became an all-out tactical body-war.
"Listen! Listen to me Emalee!" My hands were jerking back and forth like I was having a seizure. Thank god I hadn't taken more than half! The old soul thrashed back and forth, fighting with every inch of its being as my hands grabbed tightly to the hospital bed sides; she started to work the feet instead, kicking like I was marching in place and pulling the covers from our body. "Stop that, we'll be cold!" I let go of one hand and grabbed the blanket back up, fingers shifting back and forth as I tried to keep my voice under a dull shout so I wouldn't alert the night attendants. I could feel her starting to tire out, starting to wear down already. She seemed fragile, even mentally.
"Get! Get get get get get out of my head!"
"I'm trying!" I fought back, trying to focus; it felt like my brain was starting to wander, starting to daze about like it forgot what

Another ripple shot through the area, followed by a vibration in the air. Yael fell back again. The black mist was torn away, leaving her demonic body visible for the first time. Her arms were too long, her hands and feet skeletal and clawed. Her rib cage and spine were visible, no stomach or innards. She fell to her knees, wings lying limp behind her, patches of her inky skin showing a more human colour.
The ground shifted under my feet. I grabbed hold of Huang and Rayne, who grabbed Katie, the four of us steadying ourselves as the surface we were standing on gave another shudder.
I looked over my shoulder at the dissolving Angel. “Yael!”
She peered at me, one blank white eye and one shining, living, brown iris, and then the world exploded.
I thought I died.
Heat rushed through every cell of my body, then cold. I hurtled through every memory I still had knocking around in my stressed-out brain. Warmth

"The sensible one" I said a little non-sensibly. Aisa; it was the first time I really considered what that angelic detective had mentioned, that far too regular for consequential information stared at me with a bit of wonder before shaking her head with a cockeyed smile.
"Well, this isn't my actual body, but I guess you could say that, yes." She looked around before getting up and helping me to my feet awkwardly.
"We're sisters?" I questioned, gripping her hands tightly, more in the deep depths of apathy at this point in time instead of flipping out that I'd met another one of my extended family I was associated with.
"Well, yeah. You, Nona, are the youngest, Cempe's the middle, and I'm the oldest." I clenched my hands with immense senior strength. She dropped out of the grip and took my elbow instead like a caring daughter would, help me along. Bells, explosives and firecrackers barraged my feeble mind.
"Cempe!" I almost cracked a hip

It began again like the end of a film, the notion of reality, of a dream, flashing over and over and over again, my eyelids shuddering, tracking, back and forth in a closed off, darkened world. As my eyes stopped twitching, my head started, nodding slightly, over and over, off to the side. Fight. Fight it. There was a noisy voice in my head, kicking at me in the softest way, tired as well, compensated. As I felt myself drifting back to sleep, falling back away, I twitched my fingers. The forefinger and thumb brushed on something soft and warm, pleasing texture and feel, good quality fabric. The fingers twitched again to the same rhythm, my heart. Grating the fabric between my fingers, I suddenly realized it on my neck, felt it on my other hand; with a wiggle of my toes, felt my feet covered in the same thing. A bed; I was lying down. Dragging my hand up, pulling it tiredly towards me, I smacked my own face, rub

"So." Raziel started, verging on utter revolting terror. My head snapped around to him, bewildered. Well, now I had absolutely nothing to hide in any sense of that word. I wanted to figure this all out on my own, wanted to make sure what was true and what wasn't before coming forward with this information. No one wants to start panicking about possible heresy, especially not an angel. It wasn't really his business, thinking about it. But breaking that trust, that flimsy, finally established open trust, it looked bad. Really bad. "Gonna try to be you know relaxed about this, even if I'm now going through a massive internal war"
"Raziel, I'm she's it's dammit." I relented, jumping into the demon form. "We gotta leave, right now."
"Is it true... 'my queen'?" you could hear him starting to get angry that my answers were not the apologetic type. I held a hand out to him as he kept his arms crossed, incred

After an awkward pause of silence he finally spoke up, raising the old pike a little into the air.
"So, are you stuck like that from now on again?"
"Hm?" I turned to him behind the high school, in front of the massive gravesite that was entirely my doing, lounging about in the fifteen-something foot tall demonic dinosaur form. I'd almost forgotten; form melting at my request, smoke flowing away peacefully and not shot out of it like my exits had always been. After a moment I was back on my human feet, last bits of black smoke blowing away with the wind, back to the world around me until I wanted to call for them again. "No, no, I've got that all under control now. I appreciated the disfiguring scar you gave me for it, though." I turned away from the gravesite, turning back to look at the school and shaking my head. I was starting to think being a nonphysical being was more of a blessing then a burden; as a real, traceable person, I'd be sewed countless times,

Chapter 73 - POWER
I felt the brush of a presence behind me and startled.
“Be at ease. It is me,” the voice of Leviathan said.
I tilted my head back, wondering if I would be able to see him, but I only caught the faintest gleam of green light in the nearby mist. “Hey. You said she wouldn’t be able to do this, remember?”
“She shouldn’t… these are not her memories to shape,” Leviathan whispered. “They live, in their own way, and living things cannot be easily changed.”
In defiance of this, the Angel raised her hand and effortlessly extended her bridge. I hopped to another nearby peak to keep her in sight.
“And yet…” Leviathan continued, “she’s already claimed and corrupted the main City for her ends. Perhaps the structure of this place, as well, is under her control.”
I hopped to another peak, keeping he

Chapter 72 – INVITATION
We stood in the entrance hall of the Atrium.
It was too small in here for any of us except for Huang to transform, so he was the only one in his other shape. The Gargoyle laid down on the carpet, catlike, with his wings resting on either side of him. Katie, in human form, was leaning against one of those wings and penciling math problems into a workbook.
I had said nothing up until that point, but my impatience suddenly boiled over. “Katie—why the hell are you doing homework right now?”
“When we get back to the real world, I’ll need to hand this in,” she said mildly. “Also, shut up, I can’t think when you’re talking.”
“The Angel could show up any moment,” I snapped.
“Well, you’ve been saying that for however goddamn long we’ve been sitting here, and I can’t stand doing nothing.”
