What exactly IS an Axip? You may ask
An Axip is a fairly new species of mine that I have been quietly working on for a while now.

Meet Drake, my personal Axip
He displays several interesting traits an Axip may have.
-Spines: A VERY common trait for the species, almost all Axips have a row of spines down their backs.
-Hair: RARE trait, not many Axip are known to hair hair, especially as lush as Drake's.
-Luminescence: Uncommon, but does happen. The underside of Drake's neck can glow, putting off quite a show at night.
-Pupils: Not all Axip HAVE pupils, they are uncommon as well and can be any shape.
Axip are a species native to the Desolate Lands that live alongside the Alurik peacefully thanks to high intelligence and speed that they are well known for. They boast a feral and anthromorphic form, being able to change between the two at will.
They live mainly in forests or around desert oases, building up fairly elaborate civilizations in these areas and sticking together, forming tight communities even when their cities go over the thousand citizen mark.
They are omnivores, eating both plants and other animals while being sure to keep their hunting grounds out of those of the Alurik they share lands with. They are skilled hunters thanks to their speed, almost like cheetahs of the reptile world.
Age: Most can live into the thousands if in the large cities that offer protection and plentiful food. It is not uncommon for a well fed, unhindered Axip to live to be around 10,000 years old.
Genders: Not very important to them, they do have Males, Females, and Neutrals though.
Communities: Ranging from a pack of five living in a forest to mega-cities in the heart of the desert with as many as 30,000 citizens.
Important persons: None yet, they do view the Alurik as higher beings however and are extremely respectful of them.
