Black bird, black bird, do you caw for me? by nodah Black bird, black bird, do you caw for me? by nodah
Walking along a forest path not yet wearily
I think I'm sure I know this path, my
footfalls eerily. What's clear
to hear but still unseen. Hidden in high and
lofty tree. A lonely cry thru
quaking leaves floating in golden sea
Black bird, black bird, do you caw for me?

What was sound I had before, I'm not
so certain I know this path any more.
There was a time a younger man heard
not the beckoning call, but black bird,
black bird always waits for all.

Laughter fills this leafy path, this forest I
surely know. I fear, I fear, I fear
the call. Do you hear the crow? I pick my
pace to fight the grasps of the crisp and early fall.
This forest path the laughter still. Black bird, black bird,
please don't raise your call.

This familiar worn path in these familiar woods
it's a place I don't recall.
My path is weary and confused,
my mind feeble and flawed.
black bird, black bird. caw. caw. caw.
