Could you give me more info on who's using it, perhaps a photo of the poster? I've not given permission to use this photo, and it has been stolen a couple of times. Of course, if it's a student thing, I'll just nudge them, but if it's not, it might be worth it to look deeper into it.
Well I'm only 87% sure it's the exact same one, and the poster might have been removed by now... It was in the music department (at my little high school in South Africa) and I think it was advertising instrument rentals, or something along those lines.

Please, see the article, You may like the other photos there. Geez, for now 90% of the featured ones don't fav the article, I hope they would do this so that the others could know about it
This is absolutely great!
I love the contrast between the white background, and the darker color of the clothes (which have a nice reflection) and the violin with this warm brown color (which has a nice reflection, too). This picture looks very minimalistic, but has a great effect.
I like the style of the clothes and the shoes, by the way.
I don't, either, it just happens. Of course, contemporary popular music has been much keener in adopting the violin than the "classical" crowd in accepting contemporary aesthetics. I guess that when we see a strings section in a symphonic with vinyl clothing, the contrast will have disappeared... much as it did, as I recall, with the first long-haired, bearded, hippie-looking cello virtuoso in my country, some 40 years ago...
yeah, i also think it's unecessary how so many musicians, talented and untalented, pigeonhole themselves into adhering to genres of music. with my band i just play whatever i think sounds good without direct regard to classic music traditions or modern innovations.
It's probably a phase, when "your" music and the music of "your" group is the one and only truth. As time passes, you learn to love and play all kinds of stuff and enjoy what is different without considering it an enemy.
I love the colours in this. Funny how the human is the one lacking the bright colours rather than it being the centre of attention. Got to love violins!
