When it comes to fandoms I can never really fit in. Sure, I may know much about a certain subject pertaining to a series but in reality I can never cling to something as strong as fandoms do. I'm not part of any fandoms, I'm just a fan, but the only exception would probably be Jak and Daxter, however due to the slowing halt of the series I'm forgetting things, names, people, etc. I just can never stick to something and be content with it like the rest of the fandom. I may have been quick to become completely engrossed with Shadow of the Colossus, but then I slowly died away from there too.

Sometimes I want to completely avoid fandoms because of their song and dance of harassment to those who don't agree with them. Then you have the fandom apologists who claim not to be part of the fandom, yet are offended when you point out the fandom's wrongdoing. If you feel as though you aren't part of the fandom, then you shouldn't be apologizing or going through all that effort to point out that you aren't 'those' fans, that you aren't 'those' people.

I know exactly how you feel. Believe me, I was big into Homestuck before it got all fan-filled. But take a look at any fandom and it becomes the exact same clusterfuck of aggressive liberals and sugar-high 10 year olds with no parents.
I simply do not associate with fandoms of any sort anymore.
