Spectacular detail here.  I always look at art in the Final Full View if it is possible.  I love to see the details in the work that artists submit.  I am in awe of your ability, talent, hard work, whatever term you want to use, or all of them.  Your dragons are truly beautiful.

I certainly try my best to make them appear as living breathing creatures, it's why I focus so much on anatomy and plausibility in my desire to make
them feel real. :D

That in itself is an incredible talent, ability, or awareness; all of them actually!   When I see your dragons, I can believe that is how they  looked, or would look.
noctem-tenebris's avatar

It's what I hope for, which is why I constantly study anatomy and realism. :D

I took Anatomy and Physiology in college.  Bones, muscles, structure and articulation, I would think would be like magic.  You have to know, or at least visualize how a creature moves or would move.

This is what I do, I take the structures of existing creatures, and apply what I know of physiology along with physics, to muscle/bone structures. On top of that study what sort of body and physique best fits the environment that it is in etc and apply it to fantasy. I absolutely love studying animals so they are my navigation to creating believable fantasy. :D

That is so amazing!  Genius, I would say! Seriously. That is truly beyond my scope of understanding.  I love physics, cosmology, astronomy.  I can grasp a tiny bit of the ideas; but the math part of physics is beyond me, as is most math!

Superb! I love the intricate details created here. Is it done using only a pencil or did you use a black pen as well? :)
noctem-tenebris's avatar

All of it is done in pencil aside from the border, one of my
favorite old pencil pieces :D
PickyPepper's avatar
Wow! I can't believe it was all done using just a pencil. Beautiful work :)

Thankies :3 whilst I do enjoy the digital works I've always had a soft spot for my
pencil related arts. So I'm glad you enjoy them too. :D

They didn't always look good like this for me XD it's taken quite a long while
for me to be even remotely happy with my work. But all the practice, and
continuance and perseverance has started to pay off. :D

Awesome! Keep up the excellent work!

Thank you so much. :D I will try my best. :D

Seriously? A doodle? You're a comedian too? This is crazy good for pencil. Makes my best pencil work look elementary, and that's my only good medium! Haha, anyway, this is my favorite of your gallery so far. The contrast, detailing, and meanness of the subject matter itself is amazing. Excellent job on this one!
noctem-tenebris's avatar
Why thank you kindly, XD lol but tis a doodle for me. But I do these sort of thing all the time XD however it's just a bout of fun for me. Usually less than an hour dedication to a piece to see how much I can get done. :D But I am glad you like it :D it's one of my faves of one of my personal species. :D

I would bow in respect of your ability, and that's not even my style haha. So tell me something. As I viewed your gallery, I read a lot of your art's descriptions. Based on the fact that you said you wrote, are these dragons part of the fiction you're working on?
noctem-tenebris's avatar
Yes they are, long story in the making for me that I am trying to bring into fruition. :D working currently upon a website I can place it upon :D
SaviorsBlood's avatar
I sincerely hope you see it brought to life! You have my best wishes in your venture :) (Smile)
noctem-tenebris's avatar
I hope so too, day by day more gets done X3
