Head Study #1

"As with any endeavor, drawing the head is only difficult if you don't know the steps. By drawing the head in stages you will see that what appears complicated is, in reality, only a logical progression. Up until now you have probably been more concerned with the aesthetics, or the expression of the human head. We're going to focus, instead on the spatial relationships among the features of the face." -Human Anatomy Made Amazingly Easy by Christopher Hart

I'm learning to draw properly starting with the human body, namely the head. This human has proportions different then that of an actual human being to fit my style and preferences.
Drawing is much easier when one breaks the subject down into a single or multiple geometric figures. In this case I used a sphere-like shape with a single flat face for the part of the head that contains the skull. I used a cone based figure, also with a flat face for the chin area and an imperfect pyramid for the nose and chin area.
