Good day Journal,

How are doing? Sorry for neglecting you for all this time, but I've been really busy juggling the many tasks and responsibilities in my life. I almost got frantic a couple of times, but luckily through reading and having discussions with great friends, I've practiced and learned to relax and stay calm in as many given scenarios as possible. Since my last entry, I was reminded of the feeling I get when I am confronted with an urgent graphic design task, the client doesn't know what they want, and I just finished a full day of coding and testing a sophisticated web app. I became self aware of what was happening, so I took a moment to relax my mind and body, and mentally accept the task at hand. I was able to extinguish the anxiety and complete the task. But sill.... lame!!!

Yes I'm ranting to you Journal, but isn't that one of the reasons you're here?

Thanks for listening Journal!

Speaking of the stresses of programming for the man, I came across a brilliant xkcd comic that I completely related with. It draws the line between the academic world when you practice programming in school and then the business world when you program for the boss. You can find the comic here: xkcd.com/664/

And speaking about relaxing, Journal, I highly recommend that you check out the book Healing Energy Prayer & Relaxation by Dr. Israel Regardie. You wouldn't believe the way Dr Regardie defines the meaning of prayer and the state of mind necessary to achieve it's true meaning. And of course the Doc closely examines proven methods to relax your body from head to toe. When people ask me what I'm reading, I say "a self help book", but if you're into that kind of psycho psychology, you can find it at: newfalcon.com/

In other new happenings, I finally finished putting together a Dubstep DJ Set. It's my first dubstep set. It took me quite a while to get it out because the dubstep genre is far more  abrupt and covers a huge spectrum of sounds, rhythm, and sub genres. Mixing dubstep almost throws my progressive house style of DJing out the window. But it's so much fun to play! I also picked up a new mixer because I was tired of my cross-fader being buggered. So all with things considered, it took me a while to get to Point B.

I haven't found a better way describe dubstep than: a melody of reggae, zoomers, and steroids!

I've posted the album artwork in my Scrapbook at: nitehood.deviantart.com/art/ch…

You can download any of my DJ Sets directly, or subscribe to my Podcast at: chrisrail.ca/music

Thanks for listening Journal, and enjoy that new DJ Set!

Welcome monsieur!
You have two portraits that happen to be my two favourite portraits at the moment.. and I'm not really a fan of portraits. Nope, none of "boxed" portraits.

Thanks dude! That's the number one comment I get from the female version of our species! I strongly suspect that it's the contrast between my hair and eyes!

Psst: iTunes update today lets you access the mini-player the way you expect! Yeah!

Psst x 2: Stuck doing a presentation / demo this evening. Not how I prefer to spend my evening. Oh well... so be it.

Second best job I can ask for!
