girls just wanna have fun...and boys just wanna have sex. 2 different views on the same subject. Anyone likes his gender because people are accostumed with it since the day they were born, but in fact we are all human and despite the physical and biological differences we have everything in common.

Though being a girl might prove interesting from a phylosophical and scientific point of view (learning the differences in perspective between man and woman) and being a woman sometimes seems to offer advantages above being a man, the net weight probably evens up. Besides, in non-Westernised societies it's far better being a man: you earn more honour and have less (heavy) labour to perform. Likewise, even the Westernised world is for the most part male oriented, still giving males advantage in power positions. On top of that I know I definetely wouldn't like the whole menstruation and birth giving and transitional periods which come with feminenity.

On the whole though, I guess I'm quite satisfied being a man, so I wouldn't want to change that

I'll stay a female....so what if I gotta deal with a monthly hormonal imbalance... I undertsand being a girl better than the male psyche... besides... if you're a pretty enough gal you can get away with a fair few things. ;) (I admit it...I'm shameless...)

I think it would be pretty interesting to be a girl... but I think I'd prefer to remain what I am (a guy), even if somehow lived through what it would be like to be a girl.

I can't choose.... I have always been a girl and I like it... physically.... Like wearing make up and dresses... doing my hair all prissy... being a slave to fashion... not bad....

But I enjoy boyish activities.... I like computers... fixing things.... and getting paint all over myself.... I like hanging out with other guys and talking about boyish things. I make rough jokes like boys... and I enjoy video games.... and drinking beer and bowling..... Most of my "daily" friends are men... "boys" and I'm just used to acting like one of the guys... who gets to do her hair and wear make up.

I enjoy the best of both worlds.

Now that's discrimination. :o
Reply
:icondark-echo:
dark-echo Featured By Owner Nov 8, 2004
It is... Of males discriminating other males. It mostly happens in Westernised societies though. In most traditional societies, marriages are arranged, so this whole seduction is a res-post-quem (something that follows). Also, in a lot of traditional societies polygamy is therefore quite a feasible option. It does not, however, have anything to do with seduction and sexuality (though fertility and labour do play an important role).

When analysing Westernised societies though, we must admit to the fact that these societies tend to idealise female beauty, sometimes to the degree of an art form, while males are often pictured as strong workers or smooth talkers. Also, if I remember correctly, there are fewer women than there are men. These two factors combined mean that a woman doesn't need to achieve any personal status or skills to attract a mate - she mearly has to look good - while a man needs to acquire skills to function within the society's picture of the perfect man.

If we look to Classical Greece for example, we see a totaly different pattern of sensuality and attraction. In Classical Greece the only true form of love was concidered to be that between two men. You didn't marry a woman because you loved her or she was pretty. She might have been, but it could not be true love. This is, as you might understand, a totaly different perspective from the current Westernised feminen ideal.

Ironicaly, these pictures or perspectives are male produced, which means that it's men discriminating other men, resulting in a female bias towards sexuality. This is of course not totaly unlogical, as the more women you can acquire as a man, the more power (in the form of labour) and support (in the form of children) you are likely to have. Apparently this ideal even holds true in Westernised societies.

So, yeah, you could say it's discriminating. But it remains a fact that it is what actualy happens.

huh... wtf... I read again the question. now... if you didn't change it, I must have be drunk when I read it.

I dont know if that was the original question or just in my mind but I replied in something like:
"If in a next life you should decide to be a male or a female, which one would you choose?"

To that I replied "doesnt matter". New life, new pair of shoes.

But as I read it again...
male, all the way. lemme stay male till end of my life

I'm fine till now... why change? Wise man said "who leaves the old road for a new one, knows what he left, but never what he will find"

And, told between the two of us.... most of the girls paranoia, I just plainly hate.... they're too much in competition one with the other... wtf....
For the moment I'm fine this way.

AND BY THE WAY, LEAVE MY GROIN WHERE IT IS!!! TAKE THAT CHAINSAW AWAY FROM ME!!!

Do men have these things too? I think so, just in different formats :o

I would say, human all have similar things in life as long as the sexual organs or biological aspects are out of the questions. Therefore, same competition in school, same competition in the sports hall, or same compeititon in the office. Just diff format ;)

Hail Mary, if we do. At least I do.
You're talkin with a highly schizotypical and paranoid man. Not to mention the rest.
Still I find out several girls goin waaaaay more paranoid than me over nothing. I mean... I could mention you a couple hundred examples of woman paranoia, and the reactions would be:
- men: hmm... you're right...
- women: you men are all the same.

I already know it's gonna happen so I just shut up. But... yeah, you know what I mean.
