Nice work, but i dont like the starfield that much.. too many stars and too little space, if you know what i mean. It could be a lot more varied.

Is it supposed to be a gas-planet? I thought "jupiter" immideatly when i saw this picture, and jupiter is a gas-planet.
well, if it is, it should not have that kind of texture. It would have a smoother surface.

But hey, some great stuff you are putting together! keep on working :D

Thanks :D it is just fantasy, so it is not really Jupiter hehe...

It is a modified Jupiter map by me =P Thanks for the comment, and yeah I think there are too many stars but it is the sharpen filter that made every star stand out ;)

Awesome. I love the space art. Amazing talent you have, I was debating about what the blue things were and came to the conclusion it was a storm happening on the dark side of the planet, I thought they could be ice shards (very large ones) orbiting the planet that had been vaporizing from the sun's heat and were luminessing, but the storm idea was confirmed from the comments. Like I said great talent I love the work and the detail is just astonishing. w00t!

Very nice piece from you Nod it's always nice to see something a little different from you :) (Smile) this is good work, I love the position of the planet and the textures and colours are quite spot on. 'though I do agree that those blue streaky things look out of place. Perhaps there's another way to incorporate a little extra colour but without being distracting.

Very nice work, and the bumpmap doesn't detract from the gas-giant look of Jupiter. I wish I could do this in 3DS. ;_;

Why do you call it psionic storm? o.O Psionics are mind powers like telekinesis or mind blast... like Protoss or illithids. Maybe you mean electromagnetic storm? Jupiter has those.

I think it adds some color to the image--I doubt you were going for accuracy anyhow.

Adding to my favorites. ^.^

Nice pece, but do away with the blue parts. The grass piece at the bottom is great, but work on the atmosphere of the planet a bit.

a wishlist:

much bigger portion of the grass, and add more YELLOW fireflies
do something with the bump mapping
and that psionic storm seemed to be overdone

it's just a wishlist, coz i am never going to be able to do anything as stunning as this :) (Smile)

great details, I like the feeling as though the veiwer is on another planet orbiting... what is up with the sudden interest in planets in DA? I've seen so many renderings of a large number of planets (some fictional, some actual) but where is this coming from?
Most of them are quite nice (this one included,) I'm just wondering if I missed a 'topic of the month' or something.

None-the-less, keep up the good work.

Such a site to see when looking up in the night sky. Overall, it's well done but I'm not fond of the blue things and the bump map on the planet isn't all that realistic sinc you're using a texture that only shows clouds and no real surface beneath them. Just the two main things. But I do recognize the skill and that's fantastic. :) (Smile)

The level of detail is outstanding ... Thumbs Up

What I did notice, however, is that the texture on the planet is bumpmapped as if it were the ground, when the texture itself looks as if it were intended to be a Saturn-like gaseous thing.

Doesn't really detract from the overall piece, though ... :) (Smile)

Clap lovely details. i like the softness & the texture of the planet.
but i agree with thrawn that the blue stuff on the right seems out of place. i think the blue colour clashes with the soft peach colour of the planet. the image looks great without them ;-) (Wink)
it is also nice that you have included the grassy bit on the right corner.

great work nontheless, the starscape is HAWT ;) (Wink)
