I was sleeping and this just came to my mind! So i woke up the next day and did a quick rough sketch! And then it turned out to be like this!

The sketching (fun) - the inking (the worst part) - [goodnight sleeping] - colouring in the Gradient Style it all took me so looong! Yes! :faint: The gradient style colouring gives a lot controlled and different look, but it takes a lot of time even if you know much about the Laws of Light!! :phew:

Popping in on behalf of *CritiqueWeek to give this a quick once over!
First off, this made me laugh so hard - I just wanted to get that out there. I can't get over the little drumsticks mouth. Alright, on to my critique.

It is incredibly obvious what you are going for here. That eggplant looks entirely too sinister for any kind of fruit or vegetable, really! You managed to add motion to the drumstick, as well, it looks nice and bendy and not like it's just standing there. Well done, considering it's food and food doesn't normally look like it's bounding away

The mouths, those are the big sellers here - I know you said you worked very hard on the coloring, but it's the mouths that really stand out. The little teeth on the drumstick, and his tongue, it looks like he's screaming for help (or like a little girl, or both!), and the definition on the lips, making it so he actually HAS lips, is top notch. Spot on.

Same with Mr.Eggplant there - his teeth and mouth are just sinister, as I stated above. He looks like he could drool buckets all over me! The reflection on his tummy really adds to the piece, as well. You framed it all perfectly...except for one terrible flaw.

The eggplant is cut off.

Overall, the piece is brilliant, well executed and technically flawless, except for that one huge distraction. Taking into consideration how long you stated it took you to make this piece, I don't think, from my view, that it looks like he's appearing out of nowhere to fork the drumstick. It just looks cut off. Perhaps a revisit to add more to the eggplants body would be a good idea, as it takes away a lot from the overall impression when it ends so abruptly. As a whole, I think it would benefit from another arm and the rest of his body. If you feel it would be too much effort, perhaps a revisit to the lighting could be in order. If you wished to make it look as if he was coming out of nowhere, making his jolly body a little darker on the right side would help. Other then his placement, you've done a commendable job on this piece.

I don't think I will look at the chicken I'm going to have for dinner the same as I normally would. I'm just going to feel like an eggplant
