Lately my drawings are getting few comments. Maybe it's better to make a hiatus until everyone gets interested in my drawings again

Hey even though your work doesn't always get comments, doesn't mean it's not popular or liked at all. I met someone else who felt this way also, but I told both him and myself that as long as the picture still got favorites, it would be enough. Besides, not only people these days are trying to be careful with what they say on the internet, some people just simply don't have anything to say at the time. I myself don't always comment everything I favorite as well, yet understand this situation from both sides. Just going on hiatus isn't gonna change anything and get you more comments. But if you really want people to say something, just tell them that you prefer it if people leave a comment on your work when they add it to their favorites. Hope this helps you out a bit at least though.

Luisi, I understand you like receiving comments and all, but you shouldn't give up drawing or stick to drawing the same thing simply because you don't receive as many comments on something. Lack of comments doesn't always mean people dislike your work, maybe they already favorited it and didn't feel a comment was necessary, or maybe they're busy. I myself of guilty of fave n' run, but mainly because my computer's been pretty slow lately or I'm just not in the mood to do anything else at that point.   The fact that you receive many favorites on your pictures and the fact that many of them are in more than 5 groups should be more than enough proof that people like your art.  Also, you can't say that someone's request wasn't creative enough simply because it doesn't receive as many comments as you'd like, maybe said people don't know the character or idea, doesn't mean that it's bad, just different from what they're used to. An idea being unpopular doesn't automatically make it uncreative, it's pretty ridiculous and kinda rude to imply otherwise.  I myself have drawn many things that really don't receive many comments at all, whether they're fanart or original art, does that make me uncreative? Not necessarily.   It's fine to care about comments and it's nice to read them, but if how you feel about your drawings and how you draw them is based solely on how many comments you receive, you're doing it wrong. Focusing on the lack of comments and refusing to keep certain pieces in you gallery or refusing to draw them is just going to make you unhappy in the long run.  Not only that, but some people might think you only care about popularity and nothing else and might not want to visit your gallery or get to know you.    Also, you shouldn't disable comments simply because a work doesn't receive any. Even if it doesn't seem like it, someone may comment someday. I have drawings that are over 5 years old that have only recently received comments. I don't mind that they're late or that there's only a few of them, seeing and reading them still make me feel happy.   If you still want to receive more comments on your work, it may be best to put a stamp like this in the artist's description  Please comment :Stamp: by KooboriSapphire

As for OCs, if you don't want to draw them and post them on this account, that's perfectly fine; (I myself prefer to draw fanart anyway), but you shouldn't let lack of feedback discourage you from drawing them completely or make you think they're not that good OCs.  My OCs are not very well known or popular either, and I have drawn OCs of other people that are pretty unpopular too, but that doesn't mean they're bad or that I shouldn't draw them at all. I know I sound like a broken record, but you can't just avoid drawing certain things because they don't receive attention or much positive feedback. If that were the case, DA wouldn't have so many wonderful artists and almost noone would ever want to draw. Walt Disney, Osamu Tezuka, Naoko Takeuchi, and many other brilliant artists were constantly ignored or belittled for what they drew, and they lived in times when the Internet wasn't even around like we know today. If they had given up drawing because not many people liked their work, Mickey Mouse, Astro Boy, Sailor Moon, and so many of the other wonderful cartoons and anime we know and love today wouldn't exist. If you want to draw simply as a hobby rather than as a career, that's okay too, but again; you shouldn't focus so much on the lack of comments on your pictures. Only drawing for fame rather than for fun is just going to make things harder for you and everyone else.  Since you have PreCure fan characters on your other account as well as your other OCs like Lola, Dahlia, Topaz, and Marcia, why not take a break from your normal account and draw those characters instead? Don't worry about them not receiving many comments, the important thing is that you're drawing them and showing people their personalities (which is really the best way for people to like your OCs).

If you still feel discouraged, just take a break then until your mind's much more clear.  Remember, it's okay to draw for fame, but you should also try to have fun and not worry so much whether or not your work receives comments.  Also, each and every single time someone insults you, blocks you, or steals your work, you shouldn't constantly blog about it or get rid of a picture because of it. People will think you're only doing it for attention and not trust you. If someone is stealing your art, report them and get some others to help you, but don't disable your comments or get rid of the pic because of one stupid person. Likewise, if you get into an argument on one of your pictures or someone is being rude, either tell them off or ignore them, then block said commenter or mark said comment as spam or hide it and that's it.  People are gonna say and do stupid shit as long as we have the Internet, the best thing to do is to not let it get to us.

Thanks!   The same applies to OCs since I've seen her say similar stuff about some of the OC art she's done that didn't receive many comments...  I know she doesn't try to be rude, but she can come off that way if she's not careful.

I kind of react to things in a similar manner too, especially if I offend someone by accident or someone makes a nasty remark. :(

It's understandable, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to branch out or you should stop drawing. Instead of worrying about comments, just draw for fun for now; you'll feel much better I promise.

I'm still interested in your artworks, I'm just not much of a commenter. I feel that my favouriting says that I like your work and I feel that I don't need to repeat it in a comment... I've never really been much of a commenter on people's works most of the time anyway. It's very rare if I do.

sometimes, people just don't have much to say. i, for example, rarely ever comment unless i legitimately believe i have enough to say or that i have a good enough joke. a hiatus won't change people not having much to say.

I think the reason my drawings are not getting comments is because I'm just making drawings of different characters

pausing between them won't solve jack. i know from experience. i don't have a regular upload schedule or anything like that. i've even gone months between uploads, and i still rarely get comments after the first couple hours something's uploaded. full disclosure, i kinda blame the political climate right now. everybody's so afraid to offend anyone nowadays that most people just choose to shut up completely. unfortunately, that's become the smarter choice lately since all i have to do is say "he" or "she" and that alone will offend at least a few thousand people. with how easy it is to start a shit-storm right now (especially on the internet), i think people are commenting less and less when they find someone they don't want to offend. it's only a theory, though, so take it with a grain of salt. just my two cents on the matter. i could be wrong, i could be right, i don't know.
