So for a while, I was having a lot of difficulty with my photography style. I felt like my photography was good as far as technical aspects went, but I was just taking pictures for the sake of taking pictures and rarely was I enthusiastic about my subjects. After spending some time exploring what I want to photograph, I've come to find that I really love photographs of rain, urban settings, and people. I also love black and white photographs and the works of Alfred Eisenstaedt. I think I'm going to begin focusing on these elements and influences and really developing my style. I remember reading a long time ago that adding "the human element" to a photograph almost always increases its visual interest. I believe that's true. There are so many beautiful ways to capture the environment and objects, but adding a human touch, whether it be a person, a hand, or just a footprint, really brings life to an image. I wanna work on incorporating the human element a lot more going forward. I've found that those really are the photos I tend to gravitate toward.
