Sometime ago, I decided to be Zen.
I am sure of the why,
and I know the when.
I wanted some direction in life.
Some rules or a code to follow.
I decided to get a book,
to try and fill the part of me that was hollow.
The book was filled with quotes from Zen Masters,
who all offered ideas on ways to live.
I tried to use these to find a path,
and realized I had an opinion to give
I could use this book
and try to learn the way,
or I could do what I do,
every single day.
The lesson I learned,
after deciphering the lines,
is that I already am a little Zen,
and the path I am on is fine
As I walk thru the valley, the dead rise and greet me
They say “Hello” and “Try the shrimp”
I Know I’m crazy
I know I’m out of my mind
But I don’t want to leave this place,
Because everybody here’s so kind.
I’m in my own world,
And I am feeling fine
I have been left alone
For quite some time
So I don’t get why everyone’s so concerned
‘Cause I am alright,
Please don’t fight…
The voices speak to me in funny ways
They help me pass the time through all my days
I am cozy here it’s so calm
I love it here, listening to the bird’s song
I can hear you whi
