One Piece - Captain Salty

Original characters for the One piece world. These characters have been floating around for quite some time, but this is the first time they all got to be in something finished. Hell, this is my first finished think in a long time. Reguardless. This was originally a ballpoint pen doodle that I completed and photocopied in order to copic it. As usual, I'm unsatisfied with thirty or so colors I have to work with. Also, my scanner doesn't like color very much, so much of the sky was washed out, a long with a lot of the rich contrasts. I tried to save it.

The characters are as follows (clockwise from top right):
Saltine Interrobang - Captain - The quirky show off of a pirate, Salty goes out of her way for attention. She holds the crew together with her undying courage and her odd sense of humor. Her dream is to see her own face on a wanted poster. And if that means becoming Pirate King, then so be it!
Bronco - Navigator - A bitter young man who happened to eat the Devil's Fruit that gives one the power to turn into a penguin, Bronco is quick to anger and will snap at the smallest of insults. He developed a complex concerning the Grand Line, and wants to navigate its waters to settle the score.
The Fog - Doctor - She is clever, mysterious and calm, watching a situation perhaps a little too long before jumping in. The Fog has aquired her name and a hefty bounty for unethical chemical experimentation on countless people. In Salty's crew, she doubles as a doctor. Her goal is to create a serum that will "cure" the curse of the Devil's fruit.
Rex December - Cook - Rex has been trained all of his life in the culinary arts, preparing him for the day when he inherits the famous Logue Town dining spot, The December Grand Restaurant. He, however, had different plans. On a whim, he ran away from home to become a pirate, only bringing along his faithful cat, Spider.
Frizzlion - Historian/Messenger - Lion is a lionfish-type merman raised by a human family away from any other social contact. As such, he's developed a love for literature and history. Lion is also overly nervous and wary of many situations. Dispite his size, he hates fighting and is terrible at combat. He longs to find another of his kind, somewhere in the Grand Line.
Paphoon - Sniper - This spaztic individual does nothing that resembles sniping, she simply aims the cannon and fires. She is loud, energetic, flexible and has an unhealthy obsession with fire. Her job on the ship could be described better as "explosives expert," but Paphoon likes the term "blower-upper" much more.
