The foot troops of the 94th Valhallan Regiment are divided into two different platoon formats.
The First Light Attack Platoon is given the often thankless job of finding, taking, and holding objectives. As suuch the platoon is formed up entirely of infantry and specialist squads, with various special weapons teams being formed for varying purposes, often either sniper squads or flamer teams. As it is almost inevitable that the position of an objective will be challenged, these squads are armed with grenade launchers as a means of pushing back either infantry or light vehicles - any of the many threats that may try to break the line. Due to the frontline nature of the unit, the life expectancy of it's soldiers is considerably less than that of it's counterpart, the Second Assault Platoon, but many of those in the first platoon relish in the danger and brag that all the company's heroes are in the first platoon.
The Second Assault Platoon is formed of the heavy weapon specialists of the 94th Valhalla, and while it generally numbers fewer personell than the first platoon it packs heavier firepower and is tasked with taking out the war engines of the enemy. While the first platoon is given the thankless task of seizing and holding objectives and clearing enemy infantry the second assault is generally less mobile, finding a firing position and camping there while its infantry form a picket line to protect the heavy weapons. The favored weapons of the Assault Platoons are Lascannons and Autocannons, for their ability to drop larger targets than any bolter or mere lasgun could touch, while the picket troops favor flamers for the inevitable assault the enemy is planning to throw at them.
