LMK HC- Stage of Denial

A small drawing of my version of a slightly older MK and his partner Spindrax. This situation takes place well after several decades after the deaths of Pigsy, Tang and Sandy.

MK was going through hell during the mourning period. He remained in the stage of denial and anger for a long time. He believed that what happened to him was not fair and there were much worse people in the world who deserved it. Monkey King, Macaque and Mei along with Red Son tried to help him, but their actions were ineffective and MK created a barrier around himself that was practically impenetrable. After some time, he began to approach Spindrax again and the two became close. MK acted true to his role as the new Monkey King and Spindrax became his warrior/soldier. For all the other friends, it was quite shocking when MK went from a good and kind boy to a sarcastic and overconfident anti-hero. Currently, he is on the brink of acceptance and denial. Spindrax is by his side and supports him even in these ridiculous and dangerous actions. They still behave like teenagers and have caused damage after fighting enemies more than once. Mei and MK's friendship is no longer as close and they rarely interact (Mei has a family with Red Son). As for Sun Wukong, MK doesn't want to talk to him. He resents him for giving him immortality, something that separated him from his family and is slowly separating him from his friends...

MK obviously won't become a villain. He is an anti-hero and continues to help other residents in the area. He just don't want to be close to anyone (except Spindrax). I like his new design.
