:: A Legend of a Forgotten Friendship ::

I just came up with this idea like this. I stated that it is even an interesting idea.  

So in my headcanon/theory, Chara wasn't Asriel's first friend. Sans was. When Gaster got the job of royal scientist, he brought Sans to his workshop for a while.
The young skeleton had encountered Prince Asriel in the presence of the king. They both quickly got in touch and began to meet. They became close friends. Their relationship deteriorated when Toriel and Asgore adopted Chara. The human child has gained the attention of everyone around him, even the prince. Sans isolated himself from the royal family as he thought it would be good for Asriel, who has now a better friend than he is. Everything collapsed in the blink of an eye as news of the death of the prince and Chara echoed in the Underground...

Yes, Sans lost a bit of sanity. And most of it was lost when Gaster "died."

Maybe I will draw more of Sans and Asriel's relantionship in the future. They look so cute together.
